Help Your Kids With Computer Science

This was an unexpectedly excellent book from a good series. This book has lots of uncensored advice that is quite relevant to teens. It touches on difficult subjects like metal health, selfies, what is (and what is not) bullying, drugs, LGBTQ, dating, breakups, sex, STDs, and an amazing list of references for more info. Some of the advice is quite explicit. While presented in a nice, visual, concise format that I would expect from DK, this probably is not a good choice of book to introduce what sex is and the physical changes associated with puberty. E.g. this is not a kid's first book on becoming a teen. For that purpose, this is a better choice: It's Perfectly Normal: Changing Bodies, Growing Up, Sex, and Sexual Health (The Family Library)

Book should be titled, "Helping Your Parents with Computer Science". I got this for my kids but quickly found I needed this for myself. The book is super visual! It covers a broad range of topics. You won't become a programmer, hacker, or tech guru from reading this book, but you'll understand much more about the tech tools you're using every day.

This book condenses so much contemporary computer science into a most informative, understandable format...to very early interest young folks in the realm of coding and computer science. It is aptly titled so that a parent can be literate enough to help the child leap into the related topics and make them fun while learning. Rather than dispatching children to go off and do their homework, this book empowers the parent to be a partner in the shared learning process.

Good for Middle School kids and someone who is new to computer science

Excellent! I recommend "HELP YOUR KIDS WITH COMPUTER SCIENCE" for adults. Broad subjects are divided into different chapters. Each section is further broken down into topics. Concerning the learning of separate portions of computers and the internet itself, the pages dissect these fields with clear, colorful pictures, and the topic focused on is further defined by concise definitions. Having this book means knowing any computer or internet term that is seen or heard in basic broad-based discussions.

I like this book because it helps my son understand puberty and some information is helpful to parents. I would definitely recommend this book.

I gave this to my 13 year old niece, this book is in an colorful info-graphic format which I feel is great for teens. A great resource for adolescents when they are too embarrassed to ask their parents.

An interesting take on the subject. My son (age 10) understanded with little help.

This book is a great resource for growing kids with curious minds! My daughter is 9 and we are using it to introduce concepts around her changing body and environment.

This book will come in very handy for my nephews home work.
