Compact flashlight with honest specifications
The flashilght is extremely compact and could possibly be one of the smallest 18650 flashlight with USB recharge function. The build quality is also very nice. The tint is pretty clean with a fairly defined hotspot, which throws pretty far for the size. Color temperature seems to be around 5700k, which is CW but fortunately does not have any bluish tint like many cheap flashlights that come with bargain emitters. Personally, I like NW at 4000k to 4500k better for small everday carry lights (EDC) but that’s just a personal preference.I measured the light output using a Texas_Ace lumen sphere and the results are as follows:Mode 1: 1 lumens (I love the low lumen outputs as the battery last forever)Mode 2: 156 lumensMode 3: 357 lumensMode 4: 1,235 lumensCompare the above measured lumens to these specified lumens.Mode 1: 10 lumensMode 2: 75 lumensMode 3: 200 lumensMode 4: 1,200 lumensI own over 100 flashlights and probably more than 95% of the manufacturers overrate their max output. Some overrate their max output lumens a couple hundred percent higher than the real output but this is a surprise case where the manufacturer is actually very honest. Personally, I do prefer Mode 3 to be closer to 500 lumens because I think the size of this light should be able to sustain the heat from 500 lumens.I also measured the discharge capacity of the included Folomov 2,600mah battery and got 2,688mah using my Xtar Drapon VP4 Plus so another proof that Folomov does not overrate their products. One thing I am don't really like/prefer is the UI where you have to hold the button to turn on and hold the button to turn off. I am far more used to turning on or off the light with a single click and holding the button to ramp up or down or to change modes. However, this is my personal preference. Many of the Flashlight companies are releasing new flashlights with this much preferred UI.I would also like to see a NW option with 5D tint. With this one, I might swap out the emitter for a Nichia 219B 9080 4000k so I hope the head is not glued too tight. Flashlight manufacturers should really never glue the threads because many people who buy this high power flashlights are modders.Overall, it is a very nice pocketable, yet powerful flashlightBTW, I attached a picture comparing the Folomov C4 beam with the Wuben TO46R beam. The C4 has a warmer tighter beam compared with the TO46R. Another picture shows the C4 beam only in an otherwise pitch black room.

I like it - bright, small, recharging built in, battery included, can be a power bank
FOMOLOV EDC- C4 review 07/09/2018---------------Summary: I like it - bright, small, recharging built in, battery included, can be a power bank---------------Things I like:===============It's small - 99mm for an 18650 light. It's bright. It's good for EDC - "every day carry" - emphasis on the D, DAY - more on that later. It's light.I like a side switch (also makes it smaller). It comes with a decent battery. It has a built in charger - no need to take it apart and change batteries.Good workmanship.LED fuel gauge in the button, green, red, flashing red.Lack of sharp edges, reduced pocket wear. The light pattern is good, some hot spot and some flood spill for general use.I do like it - I actually had to order a 2nd one, the first did not include the charge cable.-I had the option to not order the 2nd one but i returned the first (Amazon), then re-spent the money for a 2nd one.-So I missed it and wanted to make sure I had one.Things with ''comments'':======================LED light color - I like it to be warmer, this is on the blue side of neutral.(Warm colors though are either more expensive or less efficient)At least there are no green or purple tints. There are also no rings or sparkly artifacts in the pattern - good. The switch is easy to find, if you put the clip so it lines up with the button.Battery is 'protected' - which sounds good, but that makes it have less capacity, cost more, and is unnecessary in a light with built in charger.I like short lights - this could have been even shorter if it has used what is called a TIR optic-this uses a traditional cone shaped shiny reflector. It gets hot on high, though it steps level down after a few minutes or maybe it is due to temperature sensing. There is no tail magnet, but you could glue one on.It does 'tail stand', which is usefulthere is a lanyard attachment, it comes with a short hand strap.the "driver" [electronics and LED] are glued in place. This is more reliable, but makes it very hard to fix the light if you have problems. Most people would not try that, I would.Even though I do not like the user interface (see next section) - the light itself is very bright and small, so I actually am using it as a daytime EDC.For night, and inside use, I like a smaller light with a handier UI, usually a single AA light.Thing I don't like - the user interface.-------------------------------The user interface is not one of my favorites.I don;t really like any of it!you might, though, who knows.the main thing i don;t like: is mode memory plus up/down level steps.it is quite annoying if you just want to change by one step - in the other direction.say you are on low, then you go up one level, and a bit later, you want to go back to lowit takes 7 button presses, just to move one step.you have to go from level 2 to 3 to 4 to 3 to 2 then finally back to 1.but you may enjoy having mode memory.i would rather have it start on low every time, and go 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 - what it does is go 1 2 3 4 3 2 1also i would rather have one fast click turn it on - this requires a slow clickyou might like that better too.the UI has strobe modes - which i find no use for, but at least they are somewhat hidden.i say somewhat, because if you are trying to get through the modes quickly, and press the button too fast, it will go to the fast strobe, even though you probably did not want that.there are 3 strobe modes: fast blink, SOS, and a kind of tapering slow blinkI have never used a strobe for anything on any lightbut they are there if you like them.to me they just get in the way of real light use. There are many more UIs i have used, this is one of my least favorite, though i can unfortunately also think of even worse ones. The USB cover seems delicate.Using as a power bank:---------------this is useful but you have to have the special cable.also for use as a power bank the battery should be bigger.you can change the battery if you want, to something bigger.18650s are widely available.I have added pictures to show the overall build quality, and beam pattern and color.Summary-------It's good.Price is goodfeatures are good, quality is good.I like it, even though I didn;t want to (because of the user interface, but that is a personal preference, you may like it. if it is your only light (nothing to compare to), that will be more likely, that you will like it.Pictures below:--------------EDC-C4 is shown with 2 other shortish 18650 lights: --Astrolux S1 with 18650 tube (blue) and Thorfire SK18 (black- very long). This shows how much smaller the FOMOLOV is. Which is great. Also I have shown relative beam colors, the FOMOLOV is the middle blue colored one.Not the bluest, but not the yellow either, that is the Astrolux. And there are some general shots of the EDC-C4 alone, and in my own hand, again showing its small size (the light, not the hand)

Designed and made well.... BRIGHT.
I’ve probably owned a dozen cheaper 18650 LED lights and almost all of them worked well for a while but they would always quit working after a time. Fed up I broke down and spent a little more money on a better quality light and I don’t regret choosing the Folomov edc-4. Just having it in hand you can tell it’s made better and of better materials. The threads feel better the anodizing looks better, buttons, lens, everything. I can be really hard on gear but this thing has held up perfectly thus far and I think it’s made well enough to take plenty more abuse. The beam patten is very clean, the light is super bright. The button being lit up is awesome and I really like that you don’t have to cycle through strobe and sos modes every time (but they are still there with a fast double click. Also the lock feature ( 3 clicks while the light is off) is great. I used to have to partially unscrew the tailcap to keep lights from accidentally turning on in my pocket or a bag. The fact that it remembers the last mode you were in is great too. I use the lowest setting all the time when I want to preserve my night vision or not light up the entire area (driving, or in my turkey blind).Bottom line. If you’re debating between this light and a cheaper light you’re money will be well spent on this light.

Incredible light output
Really bright - lights a dark room at night as if the main light is switched on.Great outdoors at night. Battery lasts ages.

Very good super bright light
Excellent brightness and runtime. Turn it on and you get the last brightness setting you used. You have to fumble through the brightness modes which can be a pain so you can choose if you want the light brighter or dimmer, you need to go through the cycle.Otherwise easy to charge and use. Dim enough to leave on overnight on the lowest setting in the bathroom and not have to worry about battery drain. Was less than half the price when I bought pre COVID-19 PC19. Would not recommend at the current price.

Folomov EDC C4 Flashlight Review: not bad! (As long as you don't have the latest iPhones)
Today I will be doing a capsule review of the Folomov EDC C4 flashlight/power bank.Overall, I would say this is a pretty good flashlight/power bank combination (as long as you don't have the latest iPhones) but I do have suggestions for improvement.Pros:- Size/weight. At only 3.9x1 inch, this is a surprisingly small and light flashlight, especially considering it also functions as a power bank.- Construction quality: The light has very good fit and finish and seems well built with comfortable and grippy knurling.- Brightness, the light can get an impressively bright at 1200 lumens.- Flexible power source. The light can function with any 18650 battery, although one is included.- The light displays battery life by a multi-coloured indicator under the power button. The indicator is a solid green when the batter is above 50% full, and flashes slowly at 10-50% battery capacity. At below 10% the indicator flashes quickly and limits the max brightness. This is both clever and useful.- Electronic lockout. 3 quick presses will soft lock or unlock the light. Useful for preventing accidental activation.- Power bank feature. The light can charge your phone at a reasonable speed (1 amp). That in itself is an invaluable feature.- Includes a clip. The clip is reasonably sturdy but can rotate or fall off since it’s a slip on design. Overall it’s quite reasonable though and provides anti-roll feature as well as allowing you to clip the light in your pocket (of course). A lanyard is also included.Cons:- Does not charge an iPhone 8+. It works on older models though. This is due to a change in the Apple charging chip in the phone.- The user interface is reasonable but quite awkward in use. The light turns on and off using a long press (around ½ second) and switches modes using a quick press. I much prefer a long press for mode changes and a quick press for on/off and often found myself scrolling through modes when I wanted to turn the light off.- The light cycles from low to max and back down to low and has mode memory. This mode sequence is quite inconvenient for my use pattern since I would need to scroll back down through all the modes if I ever wanted to go from low to high and back. A low to high sequence that resets back to low is much preferred.- The mode spacing could be improved and a lower low mode would be appreciated. As is, the light starts at 10 lumens before jumping to 75, 200, and 1200 lumens. The jump from 10 to 75 and 200 to 1200 is quite drastic, while 75 and 200 seem quite close in brightness. Also, a lower starting mode would make the light more useful.- The included battery is only 2600mAh, although newer models seem to indicate an included 3400mAh battery (which is a vast improvement).- The plug socket for the micro USB cable could be made a bit wider to better fit most micro USB cables.Mixed- The light has a reasonable cool white tint with a floody beam that is suitable to close to medium range use. I personally prefer a warmer tint with a different LED for better colour rendering, but this is an good fairly neutral cool white LED (Cree XPL LED).- The tailcap design lends itself to adding a removable magnet. I don’t use magnets in my lights much but a removable one may be a nice option. Note, I believe newer models incorporate a magnet in the tailcap.- The included cable is a pass through cable with male micro USB and male/female USB ports, allowing for the cable to be used to charge the light or for the light to charge your phone. Note that you must provide your own cable to charge your phone. This is somewhat awkward and is an extra cable to keep track of, but is a viable solution.- The price is $50 Canadian for a flashlight/power bank. It’s reasonable but I would not consider it an outstanding value.Overall, I do think this is a nice flashlight that has power bank functionality. If Folomov makes some adjustments (especially to the mode sequence and levels) it could be exceptional. As is, it’s pretty good and is worth a look.Note: I discovered the light will not charge the latest iPhones so added that to my cons list. It greatly reduces the flexibility if you have the latest iPhones. I have to adjust the rating due to that.

I like the UI of this flashlight
I have received this flashlight yesterday. For the size(single battery/single LED), this flashlight have an impressive power. The USB port lid does not open just by hanging. I like the UI of this flashlight, when a switch mode is going LO to HIGH and going in reverse, that's the only one I have which does that and I like that. Double click for strobe/bacon/sos and I can lock the flashlight for accidental activation. This flash light can works without battery or whit an empty battery (if connected on a usb port). This can be nice with a powerbank. The flashlight can be used as a powerbank to charge my cell phone.I like this flashlightJ’ai reçu cette flashlight hier.

Bad button
This thing is to fancy to many options for one little button, and the fact you have to hold the button for the light to come on, instead of just pressing a button is super annoying. This things going to go in an emergency kit, where It will rarely get used now.
