Canine Knee Brace (XSmall 5.5"-6.5" circumferene 1" above knee of left leg) 3mm neoprene support sleeve

My dog, Sosie, had a complete ligament tear. The vet and others kept pushing me to have it surgically repaired. For me, it wasn’t so much about the cost (approx. $3,000) as it was about the months of post-op recovery and rehab time, and just how well the surgery worked. I started asking other fur baby parents what they would do and found 5 who actually had the surgery performed on their dog. Overall, 4 out of the 5 said if they had it to do over, they would NOT opt for surgery. They considered the results to be mediocre at best, and one of the dogs became mean, likely due to the length of post-op treatment and pain involved. So I did research on non-surgical options and decided to try this brace. By that time, it had been about a week since Sosie had torn her ligament. I contacted WalkAbout and asked if they could put a rush on my order. They did with no extra charge, and the brace worked!I rated 4 stars for “Comfort” since getting the leg sleeve on is not the easiest thing to do. It gets easier after the first few times, as it’s like a snug sock that you have to pull up the leg. Your dog may resist it initially, and maneuvering the leg through the sleeve may cause some discomfort to them, but once it’s on, the snugness of the brace keeps the leg in proper alignment, and it provides the support and stability needed to prevent additional injury. This allows for scar tissue to form and eventually, as in Sosie’s case, began holding the joint together as the ligament once did.It didn’t take long for Sosie to get used to the routine. She didn’t particularly like it, but tolerated it because she knew it helped her walk. She pulled her knee tissue slightly a few times when she was without her brace, and I’d go get it, with her following and she’d actually wag her tail when she saw it. So I know she appreciated that brace! I’d leave it on for a few hours, then take it off for a few hours in the beginning, while she got used to it. By the following week, I was leaving it on the entire day and taking it off at night. The healing was gradual and, in Sosie’s case it took about 3 months - partly due to a couple of re-injuries when she was without the brace.Eventually, Sosie went from wearing the brace daily to as-needed. In general, after a ligament tear and treatment, running and jumping is discouraged, so your dog is forever changed, but their quality of life can still be great with the right solution. For Sosie, the right solution was WalkAbout! I highly recommend this product.

Finally found a Knee brace for my dog's ACL tear that is easy to put on and comfortable for my dog. The seller sent me the link for the brace because I returned a hock brace that was not meant for a knee ACL tear.Thank you so much, you have no idea how much I appreciate your help!!!! The price is very reasonable also. It works better than a $239.00 custom made brace I purchased, that did not fit and the vendor will not respond to my request for a refund.

This is the second brace I bought so I would have a back-up; I never want my dog to be without this brace for his luxating patella. This brace keeps his knee from buckling beneath him.

We received the brace on the evening of the 26th. It is the morning of the 29th now and it is completely broken. I'm including a picture right before it broke. We thought it could help our dog with patellar luxation while he awaits surgery. The material is not durable and was wearing out in 3 places. It's not worth the money, complete junk.

The brace worked very well. It did help our dog with mobilty. Our Vet was very happy with how it worked and the ease of use.

Hard fit on small dog-had to cut down .

Measured exactly like it said but it did not work for my dog. Waste of money.
