Pillows are very personal to every individual's comfort level and preferences. So please take into consideration your comfort needs. For me this pillow is somewhat firm and without regular “fluffing", is not too plush. Below I’ll explain why this proved to be perfect balance for most of my needs throughout my second and third trimester.This pillow help me with:1) Lower back pain: I got this pillow late in my first trimester because I started getting lower back pain. The pillow helped give me the needed elevation between the knees to help align my hips and ensured falling asleep in positions that gave me better posture to prevent me from waking up with a sore and achy back.2) Not being able to stay on my side: It was recommended by my OB to start sleeping on my side at the beginning of my second trimester to ensure proper blood flow to baby. This was very hard for me be because I ALWAYS sleep on my back. This pillow helped me stay on my side because I couldn’t roll with the pillow as it’s large and had the opposite side keeping the pillow, and me, in place.3) Round ligament pain: One of the other less wonderful symptoms of my pregnancy was suffering from round ligament pain. (I was one of the lucky 1 in 4 woman who get it) In dealing with this lower abdominal pain, it was VERY important to use my abdominal muscles as less as possible. The U shape required me to let go of one side, roll over as carefully as possible and then settle on the opposite side. While over my holiday break I made the mistake of not bringing my U Shaped Maternity pillow traveling and substituted it with a dense but fluffy pillow between my knees. This required me to roll over with the pillow between my knees in order to bring the pillow with me to my other side. And in turn engaged my abdominal muscles. It caused me such grate pain, I opted to go with no pillow at all for the rest of the very sore trip :(4) The magic of the U shape: What I loved most about the U shape was that while I snuggled up to one side of the pillow, the other side could act as support for my back.5) The pillow case: Not only is it nice to be able to confidently wash when needed, the pillow case also allowed for some DYI customizations. Later in my pregnancy I needed more elevation of the knees to keep my hips aligned. So I was able to stuff some blankets down the pillowcase so that the “legs” of the pillow became as bulky as I needed. I not only slept better but had less achy days.

I took off the cover to wash it for the first time and then saw that all the seams were ripping at the curved part. This has been an invaluable aid to help me sleep this pregnancy, however, I'm afraid all the filling is going to come out. I need to find some time to stitch it all up. I would have liked this to last after my pregnancy but it looks like it will be going out when the baby comes. I'm not going to spend more on another pillow right now.

I bought the pillow because I am a side sleeper with horrible lower back & hip problems. Sleeping had become somewhat of a nightmare for me. I had read that pregnancy pillows could be a help for this but honestly figured it was a bunch of bs. I finally broke down & bought one & let me tell you, I could not have been more wrong! I cannot tell you the last time I had a better night of sleep than I have had with this pillow. It is AMAZING!! I have been telling everyone I know to get one. I bought this brand after doing lots of research & reading a ton of reviews & I am not sorry at all. It is very sturdy, the cover is easy to remove & wash & it is all around a good product. I cannot say enough good things about it.

This is a great maternity pillow! A friend had lent me a c shaped pillow and I did not love it, I found it did not have enough support and was a pain for moving around at night. This pillow is great because you can go side to side easily with equal support both ways. I have also found that the U shape keeps me from ending up flat on my back when I move around in my sleep. It also props me up well for reading in bed. The jersey cover is very soft and washed well. Some reviews I read said it did not have enough fluff but I have found it comfortable and just firm enough. I do flip it around and fluff up the parts that I seem to lay on the most from time to time. We have a king sized bed and while it is a very large pillow, my husband still has room! I would definitely recommend this pillow, it has been a game changer for me sleeping at night with my growing bump! I am 26 weeks pregnant and have been using it since about 19 weeks
