I bought both the red and black version, thinking they were the same, just different colors. They are not. The black boat has a double hull construction, the red one is single hull. The boat works beautifully; it's fast and easy to control. My 5-year old grandson has a great time with it. I gave it a 4-star review because of the design. If you want to buy this boat, I would recommend the black one. It is much more durable and less likely to take on water. The manufacturer did contact me and replaced the red one for the black version. I appreciate their concern and time to address and resolve the issue. I am told they are working on improving the design of the red version; hopefully that will be out soon.We are very happy with the boats we have and are looking forward to spring so we can get them out on the pond again.

Purchased this for Christmas and both the first one and its replacement had the same problem. It ran well for its first run in the pool but leaked. Whether because of this or something else, the rudder began to malfunction, with the motor rotating hard in one direction and not turning off. It would bend the rod that turns the rudder. Even after drying out, it continues to have the same issue. Returned it for another item.

Love this boat. If you are interested in purchasing an RC boat, stop looking a purchase this one. You will not be disappointed. Easy handling, fast, and the self-righting feature is top notch. We also have the S2, S3, and will be buying the S4. Thank you JJRC for a great product and outstanding customer service.

This well designed boat is perfect for someone getting into the hobby of RC boating. This boat is just under 14” but don’t let the size fool you, it’s very quick. It also has features other don’t including self righting and low battery alarm. Self righting is very helpful if the boat were to become flipped over. For the cost of this vessel we highly recommend it for anyone in the hobby of RC.

MY GRANDSON LOVES THIS BOAT. IT RUNS LONGER THAN STATED IN THE AD. HE HAS RUN IT 30 MINUTES WITH JUST ONE BATTERY. HE RUNS IT OUT ON THE LAKE SOMETIMES, SO HE LIKES THAT IT LETS HIM KNOW WHEN THE BATTERY IS GETTING WEAK SO HE CAN GET IT BACK BEFORE IT DIES.

First off I wish I had purchased the higher end version because for $8 the extra battery alone would have been well worth the money spent! I have been in RC for years and this is very good quality for the money. I have built lesser RC boats both gas powered and electric and spent a LOT more time & money for something not as good as this. Highly recommended!

The media could not be loaded.  I ordered this product and was happy to see it comes with the necessary requirements. battery, charger, usb, remote.can't wait to test it out. worth the price.

I would have given this boat a 5 because it is an amazing value for the price.. unfortunately, i can only make right hand turns as the rudder only fully moves in one direction.. I left a message for the company and I have not heard back
