DAVEK TRAVELER UMBRELLA (Classic Black) - Quality Windproof Travel Umbrella with Automatic Open

So I bought this a while ago but wasn’t sure if it was gonna be a true windproof one. But now with confidence, I can tell that this is a true windproof umbrella. I tested it in super windy weather where it got inverted but didn’t break, not even a scratch! I still think that it’s a bit pricy, but with the lifetime warranty I guess it may worth the l price.

I was surprised how heavy the umbrella was when I took it out of the packaging but I took it as a good sign thinking it must be really well made though it defies my purpose of traveling light. Immediately I unwrapped the cover and push the button to test out its strength but something caught my eye. There was light penetrating through one corner enough to catch my attention and upon closer inspection they were larger than pin dop rips in the fabric caused by how the umbrella folds since something sharp or a corner is rubbing against it. I am not sure if this was just a defect but the holes will only multiply with longer use or enlarge and become a tear. With the amount of money they charge, I had very expectations on their workmanship and this was not acceptable. Photos attached as proof. One star is for it being well packaged and the one button closure.

I bought the Traveler as my first Davek umbrella for my trip. The umbrella looks well-built and the clip is a nice feature. Unfortunately I found one of the spokes twisted out of shape upon the third use on my second day of the trip and that interfered with the auto opening and closing of the umbrella. The umbrella is covered under Davek's lifetime warranty but there is a $9.95 shipping cost to return the umbrella for repair/replacement. It didn't seem like the build quality is that much better for the price paid. Very disappointed!

The umbrella is attractive and has a quality handle, however the metal components that hold the umbrella open are not a comparable quality. I purchased the umbrella in February and have only used it two or three times. It broke in the process of opening after pressing the button. You have to pay for shipping to send it to the company and shipping for them to send the repaired umbrella. I am sure when this is all said and done I will have spend at least $25-$30 getting my replacement. This is really expensive for something I got almost no use out of and saw no windy weather. I would not purchase another one.

I always thought this was a perfect accent to a professional picture. That was until I had to use it in foul weather. Now I feel like this company stuck their hand in my pocket and stole my money. The very first high wind and this piece of junk folded up and will never work again. PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This umbrella will assuredly disappoint you at the worst possible moment. Consumers are already suffering from terrible products in tough times. This umbrella will do nothing to make you feel better about recovery. This umbrella has slick advertising and a sleek look, but unless you have the money to waste, you’ll only end up disappointed.

Great umbrella. It's very compact, yet still has pretty good coverage, seemingly much better than other umbrellas of it's size. I needed an umbrella that would fit in the messenger bag I take with me when I travel for vacations, and this fit the bill perfectly. It's also very sturdy, and of very high quality construction. It's a lot pricier than other options, but I'm satisfied with the value I got for my money.

Bought two of these and they helped out in Paris and in Boston. The Boston storm was very windy and the umbrella held up as advertised. Small footprint makes it easy to take on the road and out on walks. Worth the spend. "You buy cheap you buy two" is the old saying. Highly recommended.

I bought this as a present, but wasn't very impressed. It's all about the handle, but the rest of the umbrella looks very cheap and I'm not sure about thw quality. I read all the reviews about how the handle is too heavy and bought a smaller option. It's not a nice quality-price ratio. It's also smaller than I expected, but much heavier. I would have returned it, but couldn't as it was a present.
