Nokia N73 - nice pics, but TOO , horrible SLOW!!!
Hi, guys before some years we could say.. what wonderfull phone. Just only, camera is making wonderful pictures.. quality its nice.. otherwise, I tried to install skype, opera apps but without success. Google maps are working fine, but its eating your money {its good to have your external gps, for ex. HOLOX], cause internal GPS is not installed. And.. what is TOP important is fact that its TOO horrible software, to slow opening messages, browsing in menu and on net.Minus is data-audio cable connection, not classic jack..Dont buy it.. go for better stuff..

Fantastically bad
I won this beasty in a photograph competition, as the camera was pretty spectacular for the time, though I'd wager newer models like the N95 will top it now.The positives, aside from the gadgets like the camera and video, was the battery life that lasted a few days, the addition of a 2GB memory card was very useful for storage. That's where it ends I'm afraid. It's hard to describe why this phone is so irritating, it truly has to be used to be believed. The negatives:- It was very slow to respond to anything, people had usually hung up before the ring kicked in, it was that bad.- I personally, never did manage to get the mp3 player to work (it would upload the songs but never appear on the phone menus).- It flashed incessantly.- It was generally very awkward to operate (small buttons and frustrating menu options).- You know what, it was ugly too.I was glad to give it away after just under a year's use, which incidentally was the longest life I know for this phone. Everyone else in the competition, if it didn't break within the week (which a handful did), had to be replaced within about 6-9 months.I'm pleased to see that I am not alone in the angst and despair this phone caused, I used to argue with this phone in public. I now have the pleasure of hearing complaints from the new owner, thought they did manage to switch off the light, which was apparently telling you it was reserving battery. Illogical to the end my friend, may you rest in pieces.

Highly featured smartphone
I've had my N73 for over a year now and it has worked fine. So far, I haven't found a better 'phone for anywhere near the price, although I'm considering the N85 when it becomes available.Pros:Good sound qualityGood web browser (but needs 3G network for best performance)CompactRuggedGood camera with flashExcellent battery life (typically 3+ days between recharges)Great screen with transreflective display - works indoors and outdoorsExpandable with uSD slotSymbion OS with downloadable and installable apps such as Google MapsIntegrates well with Outlook, has replaced my PDA as an organiserCons:Limited internal memory, needs uSD card to be usefulCan be slow to operate camera and media playerExpensiveUses Nokia pop-port - doesn't support standard 3.5mm headphones without adapterNo WiFi or GPS

Not bad...
I got this phone free on contract in February and so far its not a bad phone. The only thing i like about it really is that is calls, texts and produces some pretty decent photos (when it works). However there are some issues:1) When I use the camera it changes to the main menu automatically2) If i turn it off, it freezes so i have to take the battery out and slot it back in, depite waiting 1 hour once for it to turn off3) The fact it didnt have a 3.5mm jack for headphones annoyed me, however all was solved when i bought an adapter for £24) The sound quality of the mp3 player is shocking (although i wasnt surprised seeing as it isnt a purpose built mp3 player)5) It could of had Wifi but thats no major issue for meSo all in all not bad but ill be glad when the contract finishes :)

Excellent all round camera phone
I bought this phone 18+ months ago and have been very pleased with it. I carry it around with me every day and it receives plenty of knocks and drops but still functions perfectly. I make a lot of use of the camera which is great to always have available. The image quality compares favourably with older digital cameras (e.g. it approaches the quality of my Sony DSC-P1). The phone has a large bright colour screen which makes web browsing comfortable when using the built in browser. Internet access is most convenient when connecting to a 3G network, otherwise graphics heavy pages become slow to load.In the first month I had software issues with the camera locking up during repeated camera usage, but this was fixed by downloading updated firmware from the Nokia website. Since then I've not seen any further software problems.

Full of software bugs
Hmmm where to begin? OK, lets start with...1) The signal pick up. A 'Three' representative actually admitted that this phone had a known problem & had been sent to it's engineers & Nokia repair centres by other customers & mine was no different, sometimes would go to no signal at all even though I was stand next to someone with the same network & full-signal & I'd need to reset it.2) Text Messaging. You'd type out a message, the phone would freeze & then send 10 minutes later.3) Buggy phone operating system. It turned itself off for no reason at all, I'd be chatting away & then suddenly it'd go quiet on the other end & I'd be staring at the Nokia logo after it had reset itself. It also did this when listening to music, which was very frustrating.4) Painfully slow memory access. I had only a 2GB card & you'd think I was trying to perform nuclear physics calculations with it!5) Turn off bug. If you put the phone on silent & then switched it off, the screen would go white & stay like that & you'd have to take the battery out.The camera wasn't too bad, can't knock that, but it's hardly reason to give the phone another star.In the end, when the contract was up, sold it for £90...ha ha...saw them coming!
