A solid return
I watched Alien: Romulus and thought it was a solid addition to the series. It brought back the suspense and horror elements that made the original films so engaging. The atmosphere was tense, and the visuals were impressive. Cailee Spaeny did a great job as the lead, bringing a fresh energy to the story. The film had some intense moments that kept me on edge. That said, it did rely heavily on nostalgia, with many callbacks to earlier movies. While that was fun at times, it also made parts of the film feel a bit predictable. Some of the characters could have been more developed, but overall, the movie delivered on the thrills and scares I was hoping for.If you’re a fan of the Alien franchise, this one is worth checking out. It may not surpass the classics, but it captures the essence of what made them great.

Didn't Expect a Good Alien Movie
After years of waiting for a decent installment in the franchise, it finally came! It's got team banter/relationships, truly horrifying scenes, and a faithful representation of the Alien universe's first 2 films (think 80s style sci fi elements thrown in with modern tech). Also, the Prometheus story line does tie in nicely. My only complaint is a couple unnecessary cheesy ripoff quotes stolen from Aliens. And the creatures mutate so fast it'll force you to suspend disbelief (think Alien: Covenant). It's a couple minor quirks that don't ruin it at all, and I found it to be my 3rd favorite in the franchise. If you loved the first two like me, you might enjoy it quite a bit.

Awesome addition to the alien movie series
Awesome movie. Amazing effects, good storyline, plenty of on the edge of your seat moments as expected from the alien movies. Romulus is awesome, watch it.

From a 25 year avid horror fan (I’m 31 now)…
I expected the world after learning Ridley Scott would be one of the many many directors working on this film (I figured he’d just chill in the background and give notes here and there), PLUS finding out Fede Alvarez was the director, screen writer, and an executive producer—as I have been obsessed with most of his films (specifically the Evil Dead remake, Crawl, Don’t Breathe, to name a few) .I’m not type to leave 1 star reviews, except on very rare occasions not related to movies…although I very much want to. However, I won’t, considering it was my fault for getting my hopes up so high the second I learned the film was being made.I’m going to keep it short-ish and sweet-ish (shorter than my usual length of reviews/messages/comments/letters/etc. lol)Pros:•The last 10-15 minutes had a pretty cool alien. There were some decent monsters.•The graphics were phenomenal and they did wonderful with the special effects.•The actors were very talented. I didn’t know a single one, so that was refreshing a little. I do wish they would’ve thrown in maybe one familiar face (like a David, for example).•I’m adding the graphics again because those alone deserve another star by themselves. Everything looked fantastic and SO real. 10/10 on graphics and all of that.Cons:-I got very lost with the story line … if it’s simple, I missed it lol. I am a momma of two boys (ages 7&3 whom are both nonverbal so far & both on the spectrum) running on very little sleep currently but felt obligated ton review this since I just finally finished it lol.-It took me a week to finish it. I couldn’t stay focused on it, and I normally have no problem with most horror movies keeping my attention.-In my opinion, it seemed like a mixture of the Doom movie + Alien movie(s), & a couple others that I just forgot the names of for some reason.-Those who aren’t used to these types of movies will enjoy the jump scares. (I personally felt like I was watching something I had seen before, even though I obviously hadn’t.)-I’ll leave it at those for now and let you make your own pros and cons.🤓🙏🏼🛸Random side-note/request if anyone sees this who helps make these movies: I am PRAYINGGG they do a prequel to Prometheus, or showing an entire movie based on its characters. That movie is a top 5 favorite of all time for me. I only add that for context, that way you can see where my opinion comes from, that way, if you weren’t a huge fan of Prometheus or Alien: Covenant, then we may have different tastes, and you may love this movie! 😊🍿👽Last random side-note: I don’t know how the ratings went from being super low before being released on Amazon…and now look at the numbers. Buuuut, I suppose that’s just how the movie/prime business works in general these days. There’s a good chance (I’m like 99% positive, actually) that Alien: Romulus isn’t guilty of what I’m referring to. I’m just simply saying I miss the days when reviews and scores couldn’t be messed with, bought, edited by big tech, etc. >>> However, the scores could’ve easily sky rocketed due to it being released on demand at home vs in a movie theater, since unfortunately we (as a society) don’t really go to movie theaters like we used to. So that’s why I said I’m 99% sure this probably doesn’t apply to this movie. Regardless, that’s neither here nor there. To sum it all up ⬇️ :-> I definitely don’t want to deter anyone from watching. I may make myself watch it again, since I clearly missed quite a bit or I don’t think I would be so confused in regards to the storyline/movie. I’ll update my review accordingly if/when I do.🍿🍿🍿I would say this movie is definitely worth a watch—I just highly recommend waiting until it’s free/released on a streaming app to do so. I don’t regret it, and you won’t either. 🛸👽
