I bought this for my aquarium light, and i have to admit at first I was frustrated and considered returning it. The instructions don't specifically tell you what buttons to press to set the time -- it's the buttons labeled "UP" and "DOWN" to navigate through the different settings. Then press the "Set" button to start editing whatever is currently blinking. Then press "UP" or "DOWN" to confirm it.Once I figured this out though, it works like a charm! It's silent and turns on/off when I need it too. Note that if you try and plug it in while its supposed to be on, you will have to navigate first to the "on" setting and then back to the "auto" setting. If you start from "off" and go to "auto", it'll skip the current cycle.It makes a slight click whenever it turns on or off. Doesn't bother me.It has way more modes available to set up then I need, but it's versatility is very nice.

This timer is a tiny bit challenging to configure but certainly doable. I use it to for a weekly power reset of my Verizon High Speed Modem/Router. Supposedly periodic resetting gets rid of the digital artifacts that build up over time and enables faster internet communications. It is not rocket science, but it works.

I like the product very much as far as how it works perfectly once it's programmed.On this I do have to say, it is not set-up friendly. You have to keep instructions handy so you can re-program. Confusing. I got very frustrated trying to re-program. Well m as de and works great. Keep yhe instructions handy and be prepared to put in extra time.

Easy to program easy to set up all around one of the best timers I very brought for the price cheap and awesome timer

I set the program as the directions specify to turn on my fish tank air pump between 11PM and 7AM everyday. The program works correctly for a week or two then stops. I didn't notice that the air pump wasn't turning on the first time the timer malfunctioned and my fish paid as the water quality went down due to no aeration. I lost quite a few fish. I followed the directions again step by step and the same thing happened, it stopped working after 2 weeks.The battery on the time is good as it has been unplugged for days now and is still showing info on the display. The mechanical timer I replaced it with is working flawlessly. Looks like I got a bad unit and now no chance for a refund on the timer or my dead fish.

Overall, when the unit was functioning I thought this was a great unit. There are complaints about how difficult it is to program the timing - but this is a common complaint for all products in this category. This unit is no more difficult to program than any other you'll find - though yes, it isn't necessarily intuitive and you likely will need to use the manual every time.I found the 2x side plugs particularly appealing, where I used this unit to turn on a small oil filled heater to warm my bathroom each morning. The slide plugs are somewhat unique in this category and saved the cord from sticking out in the way.My major complaint for this unit is after ~2.5yrs of use the unit is now randomly turning itself on at unscheduled hours. At first I thought my wife may have bumped the buttons inadvertently and reprogrammed it - but after closely looking at the instructions I can see that the unit has become defective. This is potentially dangerous!!

I love this little timer. I have had many timers over the years for various lights. Some of them simple to use but with only one option of when they turn on and off - some of them complicated to program and still limited on the timer functions. This timer has a big digital display, can support 2 plugs and multiple on off settings. It can also be progabale by the day of the week, which I love as I used it for lights in my office and I only need those lights to go on during the weekdays. Only took a few mins to figure out how to use and has worked great since set up. I will definitely buy this one again if I need a time for another location.

Works perfect

It works great and I love that there is 2 outlets. However often times i will have to reprogram it for day light savings or if the power goes out. Programming is so complicated, I always have to dig up the manual.

It’s a bit hard to set,

Some people reported that the timer doesn’t work. I experienced the same issue. It wouldn’t turn on at the programmed times. No mention in the manual press the tinny reset button before programming. I found an online video showing the program procedure which was the same as the manual other than pressing the reset button before programming, which then made it work correctly.
