Great controller! Wired with no latency! Half price or less of wireless version!
Great product, with four under sling buttons, and a quality build if you don’t mind a cord. They make another version that’s wireless though. Personally, I didn’t want to mess with possible latency issues for twice as much the price. I often prefer wired over wireless for that reason. This is the second time I have bought of this specific brand and model controller. Please don’t think that means it’s low quality I had to replace it. I’ve bought a new one because I liked it so much, I wanted to share the same gameplay experience with my son.

Don’t buy the elite controller! Get this!
The Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition is a nice step up from the previous model. The underside button placement is much better and the buttons feel built to last. And those two extra buttons on the top are MONEY! I’ve had no drift at all on the sticks and after continuous daily use there are no signs of wear and tear on the buttons. One drawback is the USB connection. The cable plugs straight out the back without support, and mine started disconnecting from getting bumped. I added a 90-degree adapter and that solved the issue. I still wish it had replaceable thumb sticks in different heights, but extenders do the trick. Overall, it is a durable, responsive controller that feels great once you work around the USB port design. Beats the previous version and the elite controller hands down.

Absolutely fantastic controller, IF you can get it to behave.
This controller has got a lot going for it, feels great in every way, I was used to dual rear paddles, but adapted quickly to 4 and stopped using front buttons completely. And the trigger locks have upped my game considerably, but it’s all for naught since this controller has some serious reliability flaws on PC. I play hours of competitive pvp daily and this controller will work fine for about a week or two before it starts exhibiting serious issues. 1st controller: worked solid for about two weeks before the haptic feedback would suddenly jump to max and keep vibrating excessively while jerking my aim in random directions, have to fight the stick to get it back on target and unplug the controller and replug it to stop the excessive vibrating. The issue is progressive, it started happening once every couple of days and slowly progressed until it was happening several times a match, totally unacceptable. I returned it for a replacement which was solid for about a week then suddenly began disconnecting in the middle of a match, constantly… I had about 10 disconnected controller errors in a 15 minute period. This was not a physical wire connection issue as others have had, pressing any button would immediately get the controller working and the error would go away until the next one popped up. Both controllers also have some stick drift on the left stick out of the box when set to 3% dead zone, but not terrible. Flicking the stick causes it to reset properly and stop drifting, my 2nd controller has the least drift. Setting the zone to 0% causes a lot of drift, so I keep it at 3%. In comparison, my gamesir T4 had zero drift with 0% dead zone, it took 7 months of daily use to cause just a tiny bit of drift at 0%, unfortunately the back buttons do not last and begin sticking after constant use, which led me to the Razer controller. I paid full price for the razer and did not get a free one, so this is my honest review of a $100 controller with serious glitches. Great packaging and premium feel (when it works.) amazon won’t give me a 3rd replacement, so I’ll just have to return for a refund, which is too bad because I really like this controller, but I can’t be out $100 for something that is giving me these kinds of problems when controllers for less than half the price don’t have these kinds of issues. I would steer clear; you can google the issues above and find that many people are having similar problems with this controller. One other issue I had with this controller on PC is that my keyboard and mouse will not work in game while this controller is connected. This prevents being able to utilize any sort of chat function or alternative control of your character while the controller inevitably glitches out. Even going into windowed mode to try and do something on the desktop while the game runs keeps my mouse function locked out, I have to ctrl+alt+delete to get it back. I've never encountered this issue with any other controller on PC. Also, as others have pointed out, the USB-C connection on this controller is as cheap as they come. It's the only physical part of the controller that feels like complete junk, it disconnects easily and wiggles under the weight of the cable right out of the box. Terrible oversight considering this is a wired only controller. If you're set on taking on the challenge of owning this controller, I would seriously suggest using a Mag safe usb-c style connection adapter so that you can minimize wear on the port. *Update* I had to downgrade my rating from 3 stars to 1 star. I thought I had been able to address the random disconnect error by using Xbox polling mode (250Mhz) instead of PC mode (1000mhz), this actually stopped the random d/c errors, and I was willing to use 250hz for reliability. However, a new problem entirely has emerged; the controller now just shuts itself off completely in the middle of a game. Pressing any button does nothing to turn it back on. I have to disconnect it from the PC and reconnect, then press the Xbox button repeatedly-almost like I'm giving the dumb thing CPR to get to 'come back to life.' A few times I thought it was dead completely because it didn't respond after repeated attempts, but it eventually comes back on, absolutely ridiculous. It's already cost me a competitive match, such unreliable junk unworthy of "Tournament" anywhere in its name. It's really unfortunate, because the Razer design team did a fantastic job on this controller, if only the hardware and software team were as good. Because for whatever reason, this controller is determined to misbehave no matter what you do to try to make it work. And I see this is a common theme across many of Razer's devices.

Recommend wireless. Updating is a nightmare. But otherwise a fantastic controller!
The one downside for wired specifically is that the cable is a nice quality cable but hefty and feels like is weighs the controller down, like u can feel the torque it applies. But maybe I’m just used to wireless, but still I’d strongly recommend spending the extra for wireless. Also the unplug replug problem I mention below isn’t an issue on the wireless. It’s a great feeling controller. Mechanical buttons are fantastic. The triggers are mechanical when you switch from trigger to button mode and They feel amazing in the mode. Updating is a nightmare but haven’t had to do it since the first time. If I remember correctly, u need to disconnect controller and start the software first and then follow the instructions to the letter. Software otherwise is fine, works ok. A lot of the time u have to unplug and replug the controller when opening software if it’s already plugged in. I returned it and swapped for the wireless but honestly they are identical besides one is wireless. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both have wireless but one has it disabled inside.

Great controller - Terrible app
I was very excited about this controller at first but after a few days... it let me down. Like many of you - I was coming from an xbox elite 2 with stick drift. I loved the feel of the elite 2 and after using it for years really wanted the same back-button layout. Lets get the good things out of the way. The buttons feel amazing. The sticks FEEL great (more on that later) and the triggers are perfect. After a few hours of play i did start to have a double-click feel on the right-bottom back button. There are two major issues with this controller. First, the size is noticeably smaller than the elite 2. This is something I attempted to get used to but even after hours of play I kept hitting the back buttons when i didnt want to. I run ABXY on the back. My right ring finger is A and my middle finger is Y. I found myself often hitting both buttons at the same time with my ring finger and causing me to swap weapons. I never had this problem on the elite 2. This is all because the handles are shorter and it makes the whole controller feel cramped. Now, i think i could have gotten used to the smaller size if it wasnt for the 2nd major issue... the razer app. First of all you MUST have a PC in order to update your controller so it can even be seen by the xbox app. this is crazy. luckily i have a pc so not a big issue for me. My issue is with the actual tuning. You cannot change the thumbstick sensitivity curve. This is the reason im returning the controller. On literally every other 3rd party controller you can adjust your curve. On the Elite 2 i run a "smooth" configuration and this is perfect for me. On the Razer i have no option to adjust this and i have to just deal with whatever options are in game. I could never get used to this. If they would just add this one feature (that everyone else hads) Id keep it. All that said, im going to try the G7 pro which im also not happy about because it only has 2 back buttons but i think i can get used to that easier.

Great controller for the price with some small issues.
I've tried and used all of the razer controllers all the way back to the xbox 360, and I've used the xbox official elite and elite 2(which are junk if you drop it one time the buttons break. Happened 3 times to me with the elite controllers. This has never happened with my razer controllers of I drop them.) This is by far the best controller I've ever used for the price point, besides a few issues that will be an issue for some people. The issues are the same with the wolverine v2 chroma with the disconnecting issues. Still does it on this controller, but I've found the fix. The cord they give you is the issue. I bought a much higher quality usb c cord, and it fixed the issue with the v2 chroma and the new v3. The other issue is if you're using this on xbox, you have to update the controller through a WINDOWS PC to use the razer xbox app, so you can change the button layout and turn down the insane vibration. If you have a windows pc, and buy a high quality usb c cord, this controller is amazing for the price.

Amazing lightweight xbox controller
The razer wolverine series have always been my go to for xbox controllers. The extra buttons on top have always been perfect for me as i dont like the paddles on other controllers. (I only ever need 2 buttons mapped melee and spot usally depending on game). The previous versions of this controller have all gotten the same issue where after about a year, the a button registers multiple presses each time. So i took a chance after the v2 and got this v3. I am loving it so far. The buttons have a matte finish so they are not that smooth plastic of the old ones and feels much better to press and use. It feels more light weight and even tho i dont use them, it had 4 paddles along with the 2 extra buttons on top. Each button feels like a mouse click and when you use the slider to stop the triggers half way it sounds like a mouse click even. (It seems to be much faster to register triger pushes in this mode vs the last models and enables much faster semi auto firing if needed). Its been about a couple of months with no issues and no complaints. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent priced better than default controller. I dont know how it stacks for other pro controllers, but as someone who games for hours with fps, fighting, rpg, racing, every type of game, i would always recommend it. Will update if there are issues down the line.

Paddles and Buttons Wear Quickly
This was a phenomenal controller for the first few days. The buttons were super responsive and the paddles (while it took a bit to get used to) were placed fairly well. I was really looking forward to a controller that claimed to not get stick drift, however the main issue with this controller that people mention all online but not in the reviews is that the controller occasionally disconnects. I tried replacing the type C cord, but it still does it. It seems to be whenever the controller receives too many inputs along with a large output (vibration, sound, etc.). It seems to be once every 5 or so minutes, but sometimes is every couple of seconds. It's horrible. However I was willing to deal with it, until the A button on the face of the controller stopped responding to quick inputs. This delay is too much to play games like rocket league which require back to back A presses within milliseconds. It made the game nearly unplayable. The back paddles also started to wear after only about 60hrs of gameplay. Overall I would NOT suggest a $100+ controller if I can get a Power A that has near same function, and the same durability. It's a shame I can't return it. If I had used the controller within the first month, I would have absolutely noticed, but it was a backup controller until this past 2 weeks, where I noticed all of its flaws.
