Great to chop hay
I have a senior horse that has lost most of her teeth; she cannot chew hay, so I use this to chop her hay. I have only used this on hay, and I have not tried it on slash or branches, but I assume this works well on leaves. Before using this, I used a mulcher with strings rather than blades. This works much better, can chop the hay faster, and it does not get clogged like the other product I used (which caught on fire while I was using it after a year)This is easy to use, has been curable, is a convenient compact size, and was easy to assemble. It is about as loud as a gas-powered lawn mower.

Pretty good
Impressed with build quality, painting, all the little holes line up well. Product is nicely chipped and ready for mulch or composting. The collection bag, once I figured out how to attach, works fairly well, though does kick back a lot of dust on the foam air intake filter. I'd suggest masking when using as grinding up dry vegetable material does make a lot of dust which likely contains all kind of fungii (but this would be true of any chipper/shredder.)1/2 inch limit is interesting. Machine bogs down if it encounters wood chips 3/8" or so wide but broad and flat like a leaf.Switch can be a bit finicky.Have previously used a very old hammer mill type shredder and a y/o Patriot. The product from this machine is much finer, which is good. The electric motor is not nearly as strong, and the 1/2 inch limit can be a pain when scooping up bunches of leaves. But it starts!

Assembly and finish is great!
Looks like a quality product for the price. We don't have much choices in this category and price range. Unit performs pretty well for heavy and even wet leaves. Just take your time and don't overloaded. Easy to move around. Paint is excellent. Hardware is excellent. Even includes nylon locking nuts. You may want to put Loc-Tite 222 On the basis screws to make sure they don't vibrate out.Upgrades: If you look in the video there's an enormous amount of slack for the wheels because they made the axle about 1 in wider / longer Then it needs to be so I added two half inch wide nylon washers.Looks like the company offers great support. Multiple contact points. Great manual and inclusive parts list. There is an unknown undocumented thin piece of black plastic roughly 5 ft long in the package. Initially I didn't understand what this part was for but after getting it outside and working in the unit I quickly realized the thin long black plastic piece is to go inside of the leaf bag to make it stay round LOL I feel silly I didn't figure this out right away.

Beautiful Machine, But It Doesn't Work
I loved putting this machine together. The pieces are metal. The holes for the bolts are exactly where they're supposed to be. The bolts went in easy and tight. I was so pleased with my purchase. Until I tried to use it... I couldn't get a single bag of leaves and pine needles mulched. After putting one armload of material into the mulcher it cut off. I pressed the fuse reset button and it mulched for another few seconds and cut off again. While I went to get the intructions to see if there were troubleshooting tips, I realized that this wasn't a power issue because the machine would turn on again on it's own after twenty seconds or so, but only for a couple of seconds. Then it would turn back off again. It seemed like it was clogged somehow and eventually cleared the clog and was willing to stay on longer so I put some more material in it. Same thing happened again. This time though, it never cleared itself, so I turned the machine off and cleared everything out manually. Machine still wouldn't run any more than a few seconds, even when empty. I looked down in it and saw that the blades weren't turning even when it was trying to run. I turned it off and tried to turn the blades myself. I couldn't make them turn either even though nothing was blocking them. I turned the machine on again to see if I let it run for a while if it could clear itself. It started to smoke. Something in the motor seemed to be burning. I tried calling the support number on the sticker from the machine's body. They just direct you to a voicemail box. Maybe someone will eventually call me back and maybe they'll show me how to get this thing working properly. But this isn't what I was hoping for when I bought this one instead of one of the cheaper plastic ones. Looks like my leaves are going to go unmulched this year...

My opinion is it works great
I have only used it for a couple of hours but I like it, my leaves are very dry and my wheel barrel is a .5 cubic foot so I put as much as it would hold a shredded them just to see how it does , well one wheel barrel load after shredding would just fill up a one gallon bucket. I have a 2 foot by 3 foot four wheeled cart and my wheel barrel and I ran three loads from each in it before the bag was full. I STRONGLY recommend anyone using this have a wood cutters helmet with ear protection and face shield as I have hickory trees and it grinds them great but I did have some fly out and hit me but I use my cutters helmet to cut wood and weed eat and now every time I use this beast of a machine. It was ( for me ) very easy to put together in fact I put it together then looked at manual just to make sure I did it correctly.I do recommend the helmet with face shield and headphones.

Overall good buy for the price
Works well with leaves and lite trimmings. Fiberous material gets stuck, so choose carefully. Bag has no way to connect cleanly. Seems a bit of an afterthought. Overall happy with the purchase given the price point.

Worked then didn’t…
Worked great first year. Noisy but worked well on dry leaves. Occasional clogs and stalls especially with damp leaves. Second season the switch or relay occasionally just failed to function. Wait a few minutes or overnight and most of the time would restart. Third season, switch or relay just failed. I maybe got 20 hours out of the beast in 3 falls. Attempts to reach customer service were a waste of time. “Send us email.” No replies.
