Very sturdy bed and easy to assemble. Make sure you read through the directions and pay attention to the the diagrams so you have all the holes in the right directions. I had the slats upside down and the holes didn't line up. The slats are held side by side with strapping, so when you stretch it and your holes don't match, make sure you are using the side that has the wider screw holes. I put it together over 2 days but it would not have taken long if I had not taken my sweet time. Make sure you're familiar with how cam locks and bolts work before you start putting it together. I was very impressed with how the wood/hardware was packed and how the hardware was color coded to the wood. It looks so much better. Great product!

We got this bed for our 3 year old. He was transitioning from a crib. We got an 8 inch zinus "mattress in a box" and it worked perfectly. Its a low to the ground frame so he can climb in all by himself.It was fairly quick and easy to assemble and seems super well made and durable. Worth the money!

A solid bed, low to the ground-- great for younger kids, though I swear it tempts the jumpers in them. It was fairly easy to assemble: even with rugrats climbing all over you and stealing half your tools, it shouldn't take you more than an hour. You have to be careful not to over tighten the screws when attaching the slats, as the side rails will crack a bit-- nothing structural, though, and the cracking is on the inside (so no aesthetic damage). My only complaint, really, was the color. The pictures make the bed look reddish, but really, this thing is borderline black. I get it, they called the color espresso, but cmon! In any case, keep that in mind when purchasing. Oh, you should also know that this thing leaves no room for error-- the mattress fits in snugly, so you won't be using bed rails or anything like that. I'd definitely buy it again.

My 8 y/o son has this bed in cherry wood color and has had it since he turned 5. He loves it and he still has room to grow in it. Now I purchased a white one for my 4 year old daughter. They both have same bed but diff color. They look cute in the room they share. The bed is a good size and very sturdy. I also purchased a solid wood base board for extra support recently. But my son had it without it and it was just fine.

The beds look great. They're not difficult to install and I didn't have any issues such as mis-aligned holes, etc. However, you do need some time to do this. I think it took me about 2.5 hours to assemble 3 beds. You also have to be careful about tightening the screws too much especially if you miss the guide hole. If you hit the guide hole, you're good. Beds do seem durable, hopefully will last long enough for me to update this review - kids obviously are going to be jumping up and down; wait and see.

At first the bed seemed sturdy and well made. Putting it together didn’t take much time and was straight forward. The slats on the other hand are honestly the worst quality slats. After 11 months the bed broke while I was sitting on it with my daughter reading a bedtime story and I’m not a heavy person in the least. The slats snapped and so did the wood going through the middle. It looked cute for my daughter’s room but ended up being a big waste of money.

I came across this bed on a whim. My 4 year old had been sleeping with me and it was staring to really mess with my sleep.. I ordered this bed at half the price it is currently listed ($219)and it got to my house in about a week! My husband and I had it assembled in under an hour and let me tell you, we LOVE IT. My 4 year old thinks it’s the coolest and it’s her first “big girl” bed. Two nights in and she is sleeping without any issues!! Highly recommend!

This bed is low to the ground and works well with an 8 inch foam mattress (we purchased one from Amazon). We bought the bed for our toddler when we transitioned her out of her crib. We don't use bed rails on it and she's rolled out a few times. It's so low to the ground that she's been fine (and once didn't even wake up!). We did have an issue with part of the headboard breaking but it was within the three month manufacturer warranty so we ordered another piece from the kidcraft website free of charge to replace the broken part.
