Time will tell. I give it 5 stars for the price. The stainless vessel is a thing of beauty and couldn’t be made any better. Hopefully it is at least real 304 stainless and won’t rust in regular water. The connections are NPT so standard 1/2in pvc fittings with teflon or silicone fit well. I used some silicone grease on the tube seal and it went together easily with a good seal. I don’t think a tiny amount of uv degraded grease will cause a problem. The rubber boot for the bulb connection is not waterproof and I doubt the ballast is either.

I cannot yet speak to the efficacy of this, only the build and install. It's well packed and the primary components seem sturdy. The little carboard sleeves that contain the bulb and bulb sleeve are a bit of pain to open but that is a one and done so no real complaint there.Now, once you get all the parts out you really have to find a video. There is a spring deep in the primary tube that keeps the glass tube shield from bottoming out and I found some resistance when trying to get everything put together. So, its a bit disconcerting to try and shove it all in there are start cranking a metal knob knowing you are working against glass. So, a bit of fiddling and pushing and it will line up and tighten down. First pressure test and I had a leak at the plug side so I had to shut it down and break pressure to add some teflon tape and try again. 24 hours since install and it seems to be working fine.I am not sure if I should keep it running 24/7 or on timer so that is stil something to explore.I did use the plastic mounting brackets and they are sturdy enough to do the job. If it works (keeps working) I would reccomend it. I will update if it fails.

did not even work for 1 week. The electric box quit working. this is the second one I have ordered now I have 3 extra bulbs I will not order a third one very disappointed with this productStill have not heard from seller very poor communication is still under warranty nd no word yet

No instructions are included with this product. I believe that I put it together correctly, but I’ve been trying to find out whether the ballast which is built into the electric cord is weather resistant. I have called Customer Support and it’s a very hard to understand them and I don’t think that they know the answer to the question.Customer service sent me a link to ask the seller, but the link doesn’t work. When you click on the seller‘s website, you just get gibberish. This appears to be a well-made product, but the support is nonexistent. Give the product five stars and the support from Amazon one star and from the seller no stars.

Purchased this on March 15 and on April 12 the light completely stopped working. There is a glass tube that you insert in the main chamber against a spring to seal the water not to come to the UV light but this glass tube at the end because of the pressure of the spring I guess or who knows it cracked and two pieces came off and made a hole and then water entered over the uv light where is not supposed to be. Very disappointing as in the beginning I thought this is simple and genius however the uv light would stop and then restart on its own again right after installation. This glass tube is cheaply made if it cracked and a hole appeared on its own,they have to find a solution. This is not acceptable to pay $50 and last so short. I want this to be replaced or if I can purchase one so I can make this uv light to work again. Tried to fix it with silicone and it failed and now trying the second time. So far the seller didn’t answer to my message.Update:The seller answered and solved the issue immediately and shipped a replacement uv light and have it in my hands now. I hope not to have this issue again. I will make a silicone sleeve over the new one not to be in direct contact with the spring . I suggest this to the manufacturer to do that and for the rest who is buying this.Thank you so much!
