Compact and useful kitchen tool
If you cook with fresh herbs a lot like I do, this gadget will save you a ton of time. I really appreciate the built in scissors to this herb stripper because the ones I was looking at didn't have that, and it ends up being really useful. This is great for fresh parsley and cilantro, which I use basically every time I cook. This tool has saved me tons of time and gets almost all the leaves as you put them through the hole with nearly no waste. It's also much less tedious than removing leaves by hand. So far I've only hand washed since it's more convenient to just do after processing herbs, and I haven't had any rusting issues.

Small, but Effective
Works well, choose a hole a size or two bigger than the diameter of the stem so you don't snap the stem. Plastic is quite sharp and cuts easily through stems. Only negative so far is that I left it in water overnight and there's a small rust stain where the metal clip keeping it closed was. Hopefully that doesn't cause problems later. Just wash it and dry it and don't let it soak in water.

Works great on cilantro
I stuff additional herbs in my garden between the vegetables, especially cilantro which is great to have fresh on hand. Unfortunately, rinsing and removing the leaves is the bane of my existence as it can take a while and you end up with the leaves stuck to your fingers. No more with this herb stripper, which I found easy to use and quickly removes the leaves off cilantro after rinsing.I was able to use it while holding in one hand, and the herbs in the other. I’d pass the herbs through one size hole (just large enough for the stem). Often I’ve let my herbs bolt (get real tall), in which case I’d be using the cutting tool to cut the stem partway down and pass the thinner section through another smaller hole. The locking mechanism is odd at first, but once I got used to it I can open/close/lock/reverse all with one hand.Once done using, I left it opened and ran through the dishwasher. The rubberized grip around the exterior makes it easier to hold onto while pulling.

Ok for very fresh herbs
This does an ok job of cutting fresh (non-wilted) leaves and stems. Older leaves and stems may just turn sideways between the blades, and not get cut.The device goes through the dishwasher without complaining.

Functional and surprisingly versatile.
I have a *huge* garden and I grow a ton of herbs. I cook with some, dry others, freeze a swath of them in olive oil to use all year. I, however, have never had a specific herb cutter. I saw this and I knew I had to try it. I'm honestly quite amazed by how versatile this thing is. You can strip leaves off stems, cut herbs, or just bruise them. There are different sizes of holes you can use for different kinds of herbs, and the blade itself is sharp enough to cut herbs but not sharp enough to cut fingers.I have been using this religiously since I got it, and I honestly am not sure how I've lived without one. High quality product that is a "must have" for anyone who cooks with fresh herbs regularly.

Simple and effective herb cutting and stripping tool
Item: TEN73 Store’s Herb Stripper, Herb CutterPrice: $8.95 at time of review on 07 10 24A rather simple tool for our garden, but interestingly useful. It’s specific in value if you use herbs in your cooking. And even more valuable if you have a garden with herbs. Because it’s easy and convenient, our two most popular herbs in our garden are Rosemary and Basil. The Ten73 scissor and stripping took, being made of plastic, is probably a bit more durable being a garden and kitchen tool. Additionally and I’ll bet missed by many, are the multiple holes on each blade half of the tool. The various hole sizes can accommodate your sticking the base end of say, one or more Rosemary branches into the hole, and then pulling the herb plants through to strip off the rosemary. We like the tool and can appreciate its multi-functionality. The price point was appealing too.

UPDATED! You can skip it.
At first I really liked it, but with use, saw its flaws. Doesn't strip herb leaves to my standards, doesn't cut well enough, so its just a pretty piece of plastic kitchen-junk-drawer filler.

Cool Kitchen Gadget
Never knew I needed one of these but it's a pretty handy tool if you use fresh herbs in cooking. The cutting part is apparently just a plastic 'blade' but seems to do the job. The holes for stripping the leaves off the fresh herb stems thought - that's really nice. Not overly expensive. Seems to be made well and certainly does the job. Time will tell if the plastic cutting blade holds up over time.
