I purchased this as a temporary solution to a window that gets bright afternoon direct sunlight. My baby grand daughter was visiting for a week and needed to make sure the room was dark for naps and nights.This product was easy for temporary install and now tucked away for next visit! My window size is a bit smaller than the size I ordered. You can cut to size but I opted to just have it overlap the window. Room was very dark!Worked great!This would be great to travel with, obviously depending on the size needed. Durable and folded nicely after use. Highly recommend

It blocks bright sunlight out completely. The magnets are strong, but to make SURE they did the job of holding the blackout sheet up, I used 8 magnets along the top, and the remainder of the magnets for the sides and bottom. I also re-added a couple of inches (which I'd cut off) with duct tape to one side and to the bottom before I spaced the magnets and secured them to the window frame, and attached the lighter weight magnets to the screen. The extra material at the sides and bottom ensure that no light comes in around the edges. So, err on the side of leaving "too much" rather than cutting off too much. Product is well worth the money. (But I still don't know what those six rectangular things are for. Apparently, they're not necessary...because the blackout screen works just fine without them.)

Does everything it should (thermoregulation and keeps light out) BUT beware that you MUST let your window area air out when not in use because moisture easily builds up behind it and will cause mold on the window frames.

I bought this product because I had tried several different “blackout” curtains in my daughter’s nursery that still didn’t leave the room actually dark enough for her to take good naps. Even the “100% blackout” curtains let in a ton of light. Before I had kids I worked night shift as a nurse and I remember literally taping black poster board over my windows to make the room get dark enough for me to sleep well, and it worked really good but I didn’t want to do that in her nursery because I like being able to have the daylight in between her naps while she plays on her mat and does tummy time. So, this was my solution—it basically functions the same as the posterboard, except you can put it up and take it down at your leisure and it’s super easy. The kit comes with adhesive magnets that stick very well to the window frame as well as magnets for the “curtain” itself that also have a good, strong adhesive. The material is thin but that doesn’t affect its ability to darken the room. One side of the material is black and the other side almost looks like aluminum foil which also helps keep heat out (think of it like those panels you see people put in their cars during the summer to deflect heat) which was another issue we were having in her nursery as it was getting too hot during the day from sunlight exposure.My only real “con” is that the initial setup is definitely a two person job especially if your windows are large and you are short like I am. Once you get the magnet placement the way you want it, though, it’s very easy to take them down and put them back up on your own.The images in my review show the window before the panel was put up, with just the panel, and then with the panel and blackout curtains combined (best result).

It works great but came with a combination of magnets and velcros. It was supposed to be magnetic, but the product didn't have magnetic strips to attach to the window; only magnets for the shade. Ended up going with the velcro.

I have two quarter shaped round windows that cause a serious glare when you are trying to watch any tv during the day. Not to mention the heat coming through the windows. I purchased these black out covers. Looks fantastic. My room is decorated in black and white and the covers give this room an updated feel to it. They blocks out all of the sunlight. Very easy to install. I am pleased with this purchase. I would highly recommend it.

Does what it needs to. I needed this to cover a very large picture window for a projector screen. While this doesn’t work as the screen itself it absolutely blocks the light in a way i need. It was very easy to install with the included magnetsIt helped also that my window frame is metal do i did not need the adhesive

I really wished it works and excited to get this. Now I’m so sad and frustratedI have odd sliding door between my bedroom and living room. I work overnight shift and I have been suffering from insomnia.Literally that magnet quickly pilled my door frame! It’s not even painted part. I did not even leave it long enough either to stick .Now I’m facing to get charged for damage when I move out.Of course I’m returning this and do not know what other choices ! Need to find other one without damaging any.Seller reached out to me for refund.I really wished this worked, other than it did not work for my frame somehow, but it must be convenient option if it did work
