Is smaller than I thought. About the same size as abu garcia 5500. Spool size is practicality the same( see pictures for reference) free spool button is sold and crisp. 11 position magnetic cast control is smooth and clicks. Spool tension knob and drag star click. Fit and finish of the reel is superb. Line guide moves with free Spool like abu garcia ambassador. It has grease everywhere it needs it. This is an excellent casting reel. Especially for the $. You certainly don't want to cast anything heavy with the jigging handle. A counter balanced handle on this reel on a half decent surf rod would be amazing. Best description I can give with out dis assemble the gear side. Can't give 5 stars until I use it.

This baitcaster reel is an excellent addition to my fishing equipment. The line comes off the reel super smoothly and allows me to cast accurately and efficiently. It feels solid in my hands and seems to be made from high quality materials. I've used this for a variety of techniques including jigging, rapid/slow retrieve, wacky rigs, etc. This handles all of the techniques with finesse and ease. The drag is responsive and allows me to adjust for a range of fish including bass, crappie, and northern pike. I'm impressed with this reel and look forward to landing many more fish this summer!

I have been fishing for 50 years and using bait casters since the mid 80s. This is the worst one I've ever used. I'm not questioning its construction as it seems like a solid reel. I don't like the design or the functionality. First, the giant handle is just awkward to reel. The spool brake is too fickle. Slight adjustment one way or the other and it's either too loose and backlashing horribly or too tight and won't cast far. And speaking of casting, the handle keeps it off balance so just holding it upright is an effort but despite my ability to make very accurate casts with a good setup, I am casting to the left almost every time. I paired this reel with a high quality Shimano 7' pole. I should be able to cast a very long way with this but I can't. I'm not going to trash it. I'll give it to a pro fisherman I know later this month and see what he thinks of it. Maybe it's just not my style. If he likes it I'll come back and update.

This case was probably overkill, as this reel feels really durable, and this reel looks and feels great. It was easy to spool up, and is easy to cast with. I was also easily able to set the drag and also set up the brake. I have yet to get a rat's nest with this reel, but that might also just be because I am conservative with the settings on the reel. I have had no issues with casting far though, or at least farther than I would with a spinning reel.Overall, I recommend this unit.

The reel arrived exactly as pictured and even inside of a nice case which added to the wow factor when I took it out of the box. It is a very solid reel, can definitely tell it is made with quality in mind. It is smooth when dropping down bait as well as reeling back in. This is my first saltwater baitcaster for jigging and trolling so my biggest learning curve has just been the handle since it is a larger style for being able to crank those larger fish up from the deeper depths of the ocean.For the price this reel is a high quality entry level jigging reel that will be good for any saltwater fishing adventures you may embark on.
