FrSky Upgraded Taranis QX7s With M7 Hall Sensor Gimbal 16 Channels Transmitter-Carbon Fiber

I really like the OpenTx eco system and it’s features and flexibility a lot! This Radio is very very good as well. There are several minor problems tho: the manual sucks! It’s NOT a CarbonFiber case, it just looks like carbon fiber but its actually injection mounded plastic. Most annoyingly I initially thought you could not recharge its battery pac without removing the battery connector at the main board internally, since the cover is hard to get off and the risk of damaging the internal wiring is high , this worried me until I noticed there is a 3 pin charging connector on the lower right of the case that works well to charge it without need to remove the battery. The standard setup for a new model is very simple but you can spend weeks learning all the intermediate and detailed options and tricks and tips it can support. YouTube is an absolute must to get up to speed on it quickly. Just search for “Taranis QX7S” and save yourself hours of fumbling around. There is great guidance up there on how to backup and upgrade everything and properly set up your RC gear. I’ve had great success so far in using an External PPM Assan brand X8J Tx module which is bound to all my legacy Receivers .. and the transition from my old JR XP9303 Radio was plug-and-play seamless. Couple great sites with Tranis 9D and Q7 playlists that are very useful are at “Painless360” and the “Project Blue Falcon”’s sites on YT. More later as I learn it.. Good Luck.. JimS6-8-2019 added picts of external battery charger and its special external adapter cable. This cable also makes reading the under-load voltage of the battery input level and calibrating the Radio's Voltage CAL parameter a snap.. just read it with a DMM across the red and black outer two wire's terminals at the back of this white JST connetcor then plug that voltage into the CAL parameter in the Radio Setup. Hope it Helps..6-16-2019 update: The main display cover is NOT glass, it's fairly soft plastic and its easily scratched.. I'm going to cut out a cellphone screen protector and put it on the screen since it scratched badly as I was simply wiping off some dust with a soft cloth. The Radio itself is an amazing Adventure and constantly fascinating experience to learn. RCGroups.com has some great threads supporting it and OpenTx too .. I really love it.7-9-2019 updateI was having a problem Flashing Receivers using the S Port (bottom left connector) this is important to be able to update to new functions like the new ACCeSS protocol. Anyway Amazon kindly authorizes a return but I decided to drive to LA to RC Hobbies Depot who agreed to swap it.. Taylor was very helpful but later he couldn’t duplicate the problem, and surprisingly when I got home with the brand new radio.. I still could not Flash any receiver.. what was different.. well I was always using my External JR module and he wasn’t, when I thought of this difference I pulled the JR module out of the back,, and now works fine to Flash Receivers after all !! Can't believe I have been flying with a toy drone controller for so long. Honestly I am mad at my self, that's how good this controller is. The grips on the side are nice, the neck strap adds a good amount of support and safety, and the sticks feel great. I really like how the gimbal feels and like how easy it is to set things up.Unfortunately there aren't really much to the directions but everything is on YouTube these days anyways. There's also a charging hack you can do that I will do.soon so you don't have to keep taking the battery out.Also wish the springs were bigger so there was more adjustability in the softer range of things.

Great feel, quality build, everything you need minus the micro sd card!! Set ups pretty easy. YouTube is your friend..

FrSky overall seems to have excellent value for Tx's as well as Rx's compared to Spektrum. So much modability, and this one with the M7 Gimbals are really smooth. Love. Love. Love.

I didn't know enough about transmitters before I purchased it to know how great of a value this thing is. Since I have ordered it I have upgraded the firmware, bound a 900Mhz receiver, configured a ton of inputs, mixers, and outputs, and I really love this thing! This thing has a lot of upgrades over the regular qx7, but before you even look into many of them it is already worth the price.

Guy's and girl's if this is your first time starting out GET THIS TRANSMITTER the features are just about unlimited and the look is amazing and it comes with what you need including case and gimbal protectors frsky will be getting my money from now on. I'm happier than a kid in the hobby store. Lol

They changed how and what type of transmitters it can connect to, and they didn’t really do a fair job clarifying that in descriptions. I have not been able to use this product since I purchased it. Frisky has taken the route of exclusivity just like apple does ( simple things like charging plugs and wires won’t work with google product’s do to a chip inside the product that allows it to detect os system.. I will not buy any frsky product again.
