5 Star Seller, 4 Star Product
First of all, the TL;DR of this review is that I found the whole set to be good but not great. Depending on your height you will have a lot of difficulty finding full range of motion especially with the leg press, extension, and leg curl. The quality of the machine is overall good and I would recommend it ONLY for absolute beginners, people shorter than 5'8", and people not weighing more than 350lb for safety.Let me start by saying that I am about 5'6", 180lb, and I have very limited experience with working out. I am still a novice at workouts but I know what "feels" right when performing an exercise. So, please keep that in mind when I describe my limitations in this review.Moving on to the shipment and building process. All four boxes arrived at the same time days earlier than what I was originally expecting them to come. The boxes were a little beat up but all the parts inside were seemingly none the worse for wear. I built this whole set over the course of two nights for a combined total of 6hrs including the time it took to add lubrication to pulley wires and joints for best movement. I built it by myself with my own tools and I would recommend that if you were to build this to have a friend help you when attaching the top bar. The instructions provided with the set are straightforward and the pictures are better than the written instructions especially when it came time to set up the pulley wires. Initially I one of the pulleys one peg too low which cause the whole resistance to be off but once I raised it I had optimal resistance. But what about using the set?Beginning at the top, the lateral pull down was too short for even me. I did not use a chain like you may see on the product images above because even just hooked straight onto the cable the lateral pulldown bar provided no resistance at the top which forced me to lean a little more back than I normally need to when using commercial gym lat pull down machines. Using the provided adjustable hand grip attachments I was able to get a very good feeling triceps pull down, face pulls, and triceps extension exercises from the machine with just low weights.Next the chest press, flys, and rows. The chest exercises were about just right. I had to raise the seat two the second hole to be able to exercise my chest rather than my shoulders when doing chest presses and flys although once again I felt that tension was being released too early before I even had the arms pulled back to resting position. One of my major complaints about the whole set is that the seat is not adjustable forward or backwards which I felt could have resolve a large part of my range of motion issues I experienced. Such as when I tried doing upper seated rows but could perform them well because the only way I could keep enough distance to let my arms extend to stretch my back muscles was to sit way back almost on the leg cushions.Next are the lower body sections of the set. I was really excited to use this particular set because of the leg press, extension, and curl parts of the machine. Unfortunately, this is the part that let me down the most. When you see the pictures of these fine gentlemen demonstrating the leg press attachment on many of the machines you see on this sight you may notice that their legs look almost completely extended while at rest. It's because they are. I found that if I sat normally in the seat my legs would be 3/5ths of the way extended out before even pressing which only provided at most a half rep of what could be considered a good leg press. I needed to scooch myself down to where most of my lower back was on the bottom part of the seat to be in the correct position to perform a full range of motion leg press with tension remaining in the hamstrings, quads, and glutes. Furthermore, to my shock, I felt that the 160lb limit was too light to use the leg press for anything other than high rep sets. The leg extension was almost fine but I still needed to sit up further in the seat, my back off of the back rest, to have my legs keep tension for more than half the movement. The leg curls were a nightmare to adjust to. I needed to lean on the handle bars, push back with the leg that was going to perform the exercise with but plant the other leg much more forward to brace myself to perform the movement without the leg cushion rolling under my shoe at the bottom and top of the movement.Lastly are the bottom attachments. The rows may have been the most straightforward exercise of the whole set and I have the least to say as it worked just fine. However, using the same lower cable to perform a bicep curl and modified RDL were not as uneventful. At just 70lb of selected resistance I was lifting up the entire front end of the set when performing curls and a modified RDL lift using the lateral pulldown bar. I used a weighted vest in the seat to help reduce the amount it was lifted but I still felt the need to stand directly on the bar slightly to keep the set steady while using the lower attachment when performing these exercises. As you may have gathered from this review so far, I was not overall satisfied with my purchase and I decided to return this set. I was very nervous about completing this return and after only using it for nearly 3 weeks I considered if it was worth returning due to the size, complexity of disassembly, and repackaging. Thankfully, I was able to reach out to the seller of this particular set and this is where the 5 star review comes in. I used amazon's message seller feature and within an hour was in contact with the seller who was empathetic to the struggle that I faced with their product. I am happy to say that through discussing with them my dilemma I was able to be provided with a very satisfactory solution to complete my return and received a full refund without any issues.I do fully believe that this gym set is of good quality, can provide good resistance and adequate exercise but with a few caveats. I do not believe that any over the height of 5'8" or over the weight of 350lbs would be able to use this set without having worse range of motion issues. I believe that if you are considering this set you must be aware that this set will work better if you plan to use it for high reps (15-30), high sets (5+), at lower weights (60%-80% of your working sets). Mixing in a little bit of free weight exercises as well as some body weight exercises along with this machine can provide a decent workout routine for a good price value especially when this set is being sold on sale. If you are a brand new beginner with no experience at all this set can be a solid starting point but I encourage anyone looking for more resistance, heavier weights, or more strength training oriented plans to consider before buying this review. So overall I would rate the quality of this set to be a pretty solid 4 stars for exercise equipment. For beginners this set could be what you need but for the more experienced or for people who want something more similar to what is available in commercial gyms I would say consider other options. Once again, I give this product a 5 star review only because of the wonderful customer service I was provided by the seller despite my issues with the set.Respectfully,An Amazon Bargain Hunter

Home gym
By far the best thing I’ve ever bought from Amazon . This was the first piece of equipment I bought, and I must admit it was a ton of pieces took me about four hours to build, but the good thing was there was a link to a video a computer animated video that walked you through every single step-by-step bolt by bolt washer by washer. It just took a while but in the end I was able to put it together the same night. Freaking outstanding product. Nothing like being able to work out in your own home. I tried to upload the video of all the parts but I was unable to load it. I literally took every piece and put it in my living room. It seemed a bit overwhelming but once you get started and with the help of the computer generated video which you could stop pause go back and included all part numbers. You really can’t go wrong. Love this piece of equipment. I’ll be using it in the morning for chest and biceps. That’s to mention all the other things I bought from Amazon pulleys bars cables so on so forth highly recommended for purchase. Almost forgot also comes with an attachment for leg press another attachment for preacher curls. It’s not made for people over 6 feet which I am, but it still works. I totally recommend this for someone who wants to start a gym in their own house much cheaper than paying for memberships that you may not use when weather gets crappy. All you gotta do is get out of bed and walk over to wherever you built your gym.

A Great Home Gym, But With a Couple Of Caveats
I purchased the SCM-1160 160LB Home Gym along with the cable pull down unit a couple of weeks ago. I have since assembled and used the gym a couple of times, so here are my comments:The gym comes in five (5) total boxes - two for the main gym, one for the cable pull down unit, and two filled with weight plates. FedEx screwed this up by delivering four boxes to me one day - saying everything that was purchased was delivered - and I panicked - but the fifth box was delivered the next day, so it all worked out.The gym went together well. It took me about four hours total to assemble. If you buy this machine, I would recommend that you lay out all of the pieces first, read the instructions carefully, then watch the 3D tutorial on Youtube as needed. The most complex part of the assembly for me was threading the cables, but know that the rubber stops at the end of each cable comes apart, allowing you to thread the small end of the cable through after all of the pulleys are in place. Also, don't tighten the top weight cover pieces all of the way until you have installed the two nylon curtains for the weights, as tightening them will snug up the curtains AFTER they are installed. Take your time assembling this equipment and it should go smoothly and easily.Operation: Like all home gyms, this one has its strengths and a few weaknesses. You are going to have to use yours to determine what exercises you like/prefer, and with what weight settings. I have been taking some notes while I work out with mine, so I know what to do and where to start with the weights the next time. Here are some of my pros and cons:Pros:*Looks great*Well built with very solid construction*Smooth, quiet pulley operation*Range of motion of most pieces is adequate, but not perfect*Space saving - as you can see in my pictures, it tucks nicely into a corner of a small room, leaving room to do exercises with other gear. I did not buy the third optional unit because I already have a pull up/dip bar set up in my gym and don't have the space for it.*Gym comes with an assortment of attachments but I purchased another kit of attachments on Amazon that had more grippy handles, so now I have lots of choices.*The backrest tilts forward and locks at different settings - allowing you to work different parts of your chest muscles. This seems to be a rare feature and one of the main reasons I went with this home gym over the others.*Working out is very fast on this machine because you don't have to spend time setting up each exercise with a bench, bars, weights, etc. It helped shave about 10 minutes off my daily workout time.*The exercise wall chart that comes with the unit helped me figure out how to use the machine to its fullest potential, so hang onto it. I pinned mine up to the inside of a closet door for quick reference.Cons:*The weight plates only come in 15 lbs increments - that is more of a gap than most weight machines, I believe. So I am using 4lbs lead shot bags (from a weighted vest) placed on top of the weight stack to make smaller adjustments to the weight load, which definitely helps. I have three of these bags, so I can add 4, 8, or 12 lbs to the load easily. 15 lbs is a lot of difference when you are trying to fine tune your workout to meet your fitness goals (i.e. toning, strength, mass, etc), as100 lbs can be too light, and 115 lbs too heavy.*There is no shoulder press on this machine, but you can use the cable pull down unit set below the waist, or the front curling cable, but you'll need to use a long chain to extend the cable so you can lift your bar attachment over your head.*If you are over 6' tall, you might have an issue with the seat height and where the chest press grips are on this machine. I am 5'11" and have my seat at the lowest possible position, and wish either the seat went a couple of inches lower, or the bench press grips could be raised a couple of inches on the press/butterfly bars, because they are fixed at their lowest possible point for me to still be of any use. It feels like I am doing a declined bench press all the time, because my hands are quite low in relation to my chest. I would like it if the grips could be raised higher, but they can not unless I redrill my own holes on the press/butterfly bars. The tilting backrest helps with this a little.*I wish there were hand grips on the butterfly bars when doing flies. There are none, so you have to just grip the main butterfly bars instead.
