Mattress cover falling apart.
Although it does seem to be a fairly comfortable mattress, the cover is falling apart around the zipper and I have only washed it about ten times. She turns a bit while she is falling asleep, but there isn't any heavy wear around the area that is failing.

What I expected
This mattress met my expectations. The only complaint I have is that is has a smell to it. I let it air out without the cover on it for several weeks but it still has a slight smell. I washed the cover and once I placed it back on the mattress and put the sheet on, the smell was not noticeable. My baby is not born yet, so I can't comment on how well a baby sleeps on it, but it appears to be soft and comfortable. Definitely better than the other mattresses we looked at in baby stores. My suggestion would be to purchase early to allow mattress to air out.Overall I believe this was a great purchase!

This Product is NOT Non-Toxic.
When I bought this mattress, I was new to the whole "non-toxic" scene and I believed the Nook Sleep Pebble Lite was as good as it got when it came to a non-toxic crib mattress. Otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it! But I've learned better since then and sincerely regret my decision to buy this mattress. I'll state right away that it is EXTREMELY comfortable and adorable. No issue there! But that's not why I bought it.First of all, CertiPUR-US foam is simply polyurethane foam that's supposed to be "better" than standard polyurethane foam. But is it really? Maybe a little (and that's debatable) but in the end it's still a highly flammable byproduct of crude oil. Additionally, the CentiPUR-US certification comes from the polyurethane foam industry itself so it's not exactly unbiased! It's like they realized people were trying to choose healthier products and tried to jump on board the train by inventing some random certification.Additionally, I had the foam from my 2013 Pebble Lite mattress tested for flame retardants at Duke University and it came back as containing TBPP. When I contacted Nook about this, their response was that "All man-made foams have that present in them." Okay, fine... but should a product being marketed as non-toxic test positive for a chemical flame retardant found in conventional products??? It's irritating that you practically have to have a degree in all things non-toxic to find TRULY safe products! This product also contains a lot of plastic. So if you're trying to stick to "natural" materials, keep looking. As I said in the beginning of my review, I won't deny that this is a sturdy, good looking, and comfortable mattress. But that's not why I bought it! In the end, it was an expensive mattress (there are PLENTY of other mattresses at a similar price point that would have been better non-toxic options) that I honestly don't think is that much healthier than a conventional mattress. I'm disappointed for sure and I hope I can help others passionate about non-toxic products avoid making the same bad decision that I made!

4.5 Years and Still Looks (and Feels) Like New
We invested in this mattress before my now 4-year-old daughter was born. I wanted a more breathable mattress than the one I had for my older child, but agonized about the cost - it was even more expensive back then - but ultimately I'm so happy I "splurged." My daughter preferred to stay in her crib, then toddler bed, until very recently, meaning this mattress got over four years of continuous use. The mattress definitely has a different feel than traditional crib mattresses - kind of like a Tempurpedic feel - and it has both a firm and a softer side, so it was ideal for moving from baby to toddler to, in our case, preschooler! The mattress has held up beautifully and still looks and feels like it did when it was brand new. It's in such great condition that I'm passing it along to a friend. We always used a flannel crib sheet (and a waterproof pad during potty training), so there was no need to pay more for any of the other colors. I occasionally washed the cover on delicate with a free & clear detergent and air-dried it. While the cover was typically a bit snug after a washing, it quickly relaxed back to the right fit. All in all, this mattress was a great purchase and I highly recommend it.

Great Product. Seems Comfortable
We just started using this for my son a few weeks ago. He transitioned to his crib from the rock and play fairly easily. I put the mattress on the floor and laid on it and found it to be comfortable. I sleep on a Temper Pedic so I'm pretty picky. I've only had to take the cover off once to wash it because my little guy had the flu but I found it easy to put back on. I just washed it on the gentle cycle and dried it on low heat. It went back on without a problem. My only complaint is when it first came there was a smell to it. However, after a week the smell was gone. My son is really a hot kid and he's never sweaty when I get him up from naps or get him up in the morning so I'd have to say that the breathability of the mattress really works. I will definitely buy on for the next baby.

Doesn't hold up well over time.
When seeking a crib mattress for our first born, we prioritized natural materials, low toxic fumes, and good support. My son is 2.5, and for the last year, his mattress has a permanent sag in it. What is worse, is that he did not sleep on this mattress at all for ~8 of his 30 months. So with about 22 months of use, this is essentially a taco-shell-shaped item for our trash. We paid $295 for the mattress in 2014, a price point at which I expected better quality. This mattress has had an easy life; this isn't from undue wear and tear. Save your money and buy something with a higher quality.

the best investment we made for our daughter
I thought my husband was crazy when he told me this was the mattress he was ordering for our firstborn. Now that we are 16 months in, I gladly eat my words each and every day. This is hands down, the best investment we made for our daughter. Not only is it free of chemicals and products I don't want her breathing in but its seriously a genius product that is so easy to clean and maintain. She spends the majority of her time in bed and I couldn't be more pleased with this mattress! My mother has a traditional plastic crib mattress at her home and my daughter doesnt sleep as well on it for sure. Theres really no way to compare the two. So thankful for this company and this mattress! Cant say enough good things about it!
