Excellent read!
Interesting book about Tigers life from being a child to his comeback before winning the 2019 Masters. It helps you understand a lot of the things about Tiger’s personality in his earlier tour days.

Great book.
The emergence of Tiger Woods opened up a whole new chapter in my interest in watching golf on tv. After reading this book, I now know that merely calling Tiger a phenomena does not do justice to the amazing amount of work he put into perfecting his game. In retrospect, it is no wonder he blew the doors off of the competition. Who else has ever started so young and worked so hard for so long, with an undying virtually singular focus. In this case, golf. The downside, as always, and as explained in this book, and which only makes sense, is the inevitable trade off in literally not having the time or opportunity to develop as a well rounded human being. Recognizing this is no slight to Tiger. He could never have become the greatest golfer ever had things unfolded differently in his life. Thank you Tiger and super congratulations on your unbelievable comeback. I got to see you in person at the Masters. It was simply amazing. And thanks to the authors for giving me a chance to understand this amazing individual from other perspectives. It only made me appreciate Tiger even more.I only hope you continue to update this biography because, it would seem, there is much more story to come.

this is the most complete book about the rise and fall of one of the greatest golfers ever that I've ever read
Simply put, this is the most complete book about the rise and fall of one of the greatest golfers ever that I've ever read. The way his upbringing, and the way his parents raised him, and influenced him, showed up again and again as he grew into adulthood, and not always in a favorable way. You learn several not so pleasant things about the way he's treated people who were allegedly friends, and especially the people he perceived as enemies. He was constantly surrounded by money - fame - fortune - and obligations to keep it all going forward. All while retooling his swing several times, and (almost) coming back better than before. From a golf perspective, this book also clearly points out - more than once - just how good Tiger was in his hey day. No one - repeat no one - will ever consistently win 30% of the tournaments they enter in a year. Today's golfers would be likely to do it once,...and Tiger did it repeatedly. At one point he was the defending champ - in all four majors - at the same time. Obviously Tiger Woods the man is still a work in progress, and who knows when/if he'll ever win on tour again. But Tiger Woods the golfer is very simply one of if not the best ever. Stop labeling every golfer who wins once or twice "the next Tiger Woods". On the course, there will - never - be another.

Insight into Aspects of Tiger’s Psyche
The story is well crafted, compelling, and cohesive, and that’s pretty impressive given neither Tiger nor his close friends not associates would agree to be interviewed for books or biographies. I personally very much appreciate the authors having written this book. Growing up around/with golf all my life, I never fully appreciated Tiger’s golf skill until long after his scandal and the extensive lack of dominance in the game by any other player. As I arrived to break new records in my game (now shoot sub 90s regularly), I realized what sheer will and skill it takes an human to achieve what Tiger did. And personally, having the insight of his parents and childhood is what helped shape my understanding of him the most. Growing up with Asian American immigrant parent(s) and having to work for everything you possess certainly molds a certain type of personality and I can see partially why he ended up the way he did. At the same time, I hope that he can file peace and humanity as he grows older and his childhood and memories of his parents get older and he becomes his own person. Highly recommend for golf fans and for Asian American literature

I have followed the work of these two very talented investigative reporters for years. Their preceding investigative work speaks for itself, establishing them as the two of most important authors of this genre in America. In their book on Tiger Woods, they have combined the rigor of thorough investigation, with incisive prose that keeps their subject firmly in mind. In short, I trust their reporting, and could not put the book down (which is a testimony to the art of their storytelling.)Tiger Woods is obviously a monumental talent. There is no doubt that the authors respect this and tip their hat to it at every turn. But behind this bullet train of hype and money players, there lay a flesh & blood young man who like a protagonist from a Greek tragedy had the very seeds of greatness intermingled with tragic foibles that are carefully laid bare by Mr. Benedict & Mr. Keteyian. They managed to do this without it feeling like a hit job. Just the opposite - because of their mature prose, I came to care about Mr. Woods. But the manner in which the story is told, the foreshadowing is clear from the first chapter that he might fly too close to the sun. And so the reader follows along to see how this will play out...and along the way comes to a different understanding of the humanity of Mr. Woods. The book is simply a tour de force by these two accomplished journalists who found in Tiger Woods a subject worthy of their talents.
