Oxford Picture Dictionary English-Japanese Edition: Bilingual Dictionary for Japanese-speaking teenage and adult students of English: Bilingual Dictionary ... (Oxford Picture Dictionary Second Edition)

I bought this book as a guide to help me keep up with Japanese vocabulary in a more fun and more topic-related way than is usually the case with standard text books. I found, however, that this book is actually created and intended for Japanese people to study English vocabulary, and not the other way around. The big disadvantage of this is that the Japanese text does not have any indication on reading - everything is in kanji (or kana when applicable) and there is no romaji or furigana anywhere, not even in the index of words.The book in itself is thorough and provides plenty of new words in logical combinations and an easy to learn layout, but it is not for beginner students of Japanese because of the reasons stated above. For those with a knowledge of Japanese writing, the fact that there is no reading indication anywhere can serve as an extra stimulus to help master the kanji, but extra work is needed to look up those words that you cannot pronounce. Also, there are no overviews of Japanese grammar or sentence structures since the book is intended for the Japanese to study English. This means that the book can be used to review or enhance your vocabulary, but you will need other resources to help you construct sentences and to look up Japanese words that you cannot pronounce. Not for beginners or people who do not have a lot of time to spend on their studies, but a good aid to really master daily Japanese vocabulary if you're willing to make the extra effort.

字だけでは覚えにくいのですが絵があるのでわかりやすいですすぐ手に取れるようにリビングにおいています子供用(小学生)に買いましたが大人がみても楽しめます

英語の辞書だそうですが、絵本感覚で楽しいです。イラストは生々しいかも知れませんが、学習するにも辞書として使うにも便利ですね。

眺めてるだけで面白い！妻と質問を出し合って勉強しています。子供の絵本としてもいいと思います。ただ、少し絵がリアルで怖いものもあります。

アマゾンさんからの案内で、この本を知ったのですが、試しに買ってみたら、大当たりでした。『オックスフォード　ピクチャー　ディクショナリー』という名前にひかれて、あと、外国では、子供向けの教材ということと、この第２版では、日本語もついているので、安心です。音声ＣＤも聞きやすく、申し分ないです。パラパラ見て遊ぶだけでも、絵と日本語が、英単語を導いてくれるので、英語で日常生活の語彙を身に付けたい方は、お勧めの本です。

見ているだけで楽しいですが、発音記号がよくわからない子どもにはCDがあればいいなと思います。

子供英語用に買った。私が時々読んでる。ジャンル別に、実生活の場面ごとにまとめてるので、とても使いやすいと感じてる。

ｃｄも出ているので一緒に購入。絵を見ているだけでも楽しいし、凄く細かい単語が沢山載っています。少し値段は張りますが価値があります。

単元ごとに単語と絵が一緒に載っているので、イメージしながら覚えられるので良いと思う。

留学をする子にあげましたが　役に立ちます。海外生活で知っておくべき　日常の言葉がおとなっぽい絵で掲載されています。なかなかこの本の単語すべてを知っている邦人はすくないでしょう。

Good for Japanese who is learning English. It has so many words that I even don't know how to say in Japanese. I recommend to buy not paper one but kindle since its much cheaper

学校の英語では習わない知ってるようで知らない事が学べます。雑学としても面白い内容でした。
