Works great except it was not clear from previous reviews or item description but this heat pad will only work in timer mode for a maximum of 12 hours. After the maximum of 12 hours it shuts off and will not turn back on unless the power button is pressed. Also, if there is a power failure, the heat pad will shut off and does not come back on until the power button is pressed. This means it’s of limited use for a pet bed.

I put this heating pad in one of those "hidden litter box" type tables that we don't use anymore, and set up this little cat house on my front porch. We have a couple outdoor cats that hang around and have loved having this warm spot to sleep. The heating pad is fully adjustable, you can set the temperature and the timer. I love the timer feature, if you are a worrier like me, I don't like leaving things like this on too long! I feel safe knowing that it will turn off at a specific time. The mat gets warm, I like that you can tell it doesn't get too hot. Just right for your pets!

It does not hold a heat setting, at most the bottom of the pad heats, but not the top, and when we turn it over, the same thing happens. Total waste of money and will be returning. It may however, be due to a returned, malfunctioning heating pad because there were no photos, etc. where we received this. If that is, in fact, the case, shame on Amazon for sending us a defective product.

It's okay, not too bad but nothing to rave home about. The fabric feels okay but you mainly feel the pad on the inside so it can be a little rough. I like the control for the pad, it was pretty straight forward to use. The timer section worked as it should in increments of 1 hour. There was a lot of temperature options as well. The actual heating of the pad was mediocre. It worked but it's definitely better if you are able to have it be in an enclosed cat bed or something. When I just had it on my couch, it did feel warm but not that warm. It was much warmer on the underside since it was being insulated from the couch. The cat did like to lay on it but his reaction seemed as if he felt it was a mediocre heat pad as well. Overall, not bad but I think there are better ones out there.

This product was selected for and by the Lady of the House.The following review is written by her and edited by me.I ordered this Pet Heating Pad in the small size and it fits well inside our indoor cat beds. It has a very soft fleece cover that’s easy to remove for washing. The plastic waterproof cover is thick and sturdy. The controls are large and easy to read. It does get nice and warm on the higher settings but doesn’t, IMHO, get too overly hot.My only real complaint is that the cord is very strange. There is about sixteen inches of “chew-resistant steel cord” between the heating pad and the well designed control unit. The rest of the cord is less than 4 feet long and made from thin lamp style cord that is not weatherproof. This means that I would not use this heating pad in a completely outdoor environment. Indeed, for many of my indoor applications, I would need to use an extension cord. And, that is OK. I’m not suggesting that the cord be any longer. I am suggesting that the designers/sellers need to make this product for either fully indoor or fully outdoor usage. As it is, it has design elements of both and therefore is really not an outdoor product.My outside cats already have soft heat pads in their homes that are entirely outdoor rated. This heated pad, IMHO, would be best used indoors, on an enclosed patio/porch or in a secure garage for those cats that live in colder places but are not exposed to the outdoor elements.
