Great information
I'm reaching that age that I will be signing up for Medicare & secondary gap coverage so am studying up ahead of time. This is the 2021 version so it will have the latest law changes. There's a lot to know, so am glad I have it all in one book to understand my choices before I have to sign up. It also explains what Medicare Advantage is and what details to look for in chosing one of them so I'm not left with more medical costs than necessary. There are a ton of Medicare Advantage plan options from every major insurance company out there & those TV commercials that run every year for 1-2 months before the Dec 7th Medicare deadline are pretty overwhelming to figure out who has the best plan. This book seems to be good so far in helping me cut thru their TV commercial BS to understand what I should have included in one for best overall insurance coverage.

Indispensable!
Choices like when to retire, what impacts that decision has on medical coverage, the interplay of those BIG issues, the importance of timing... I've been warned by older retirees that these are complex issues and....They were right! Until I got this book, I had no idea how right they were... These are tough decisions that nearly all of us have to make.... Which Medicare plans to get? What will the costs be? Are there penalties for waiting too long? This book answers these questions and many, many more.... A worthwhile investment in your future for those at or approaching retirement....

Oh hell yeah
You want your best shot at getting your Social Security on the first try, before you have to hire a bloodsucking leech of an attorney who will take 20% of your back Social Security pay . These damn leashes don't deserve 20% of what you are owed. this book, and you will not be sorry. It helped me.

Very useful, for specific questions
Very useful, for specific questions: When to file, how to file. It addressed 3 specific questions that I could not find in any other book. Tax law changes EVERY year lead to misinformation, wasted time, and UhOh! - I didn't know that, just read somewhere...This is the best compilation of need to know that I have found.

Not what it claims to be
Contrary to what is touted as the main feature of the book--an up-to-date "complete guide" to "file-and-suspend" benefits--it offers only a brief and vague half-page discussion (p. 113). And its "unique web page" at nolo.com only confuses the matter. You can learn more from a simple Google search. The book's coverage of other aspects of social security and medicare is useful, however.
