This rug color should have read “Tarnished Silver” or Medium Dark GreyI have several Safavieh wool rugs and know that they are high quality so I was so happy to find this cotton rug for my bath.I ordered this for my bath which has the colors or sky blue and white (but not bright white-white). I thought “silver” would describe something that I envisioned as newly polished silver. The picture in the description shows the color as predominantly off white or a very light grey. The actual rug is predominantly very dark grey with some white strands.The rug is shipped in a very tough transparent plastic bag and I could see the rug before I even opened the packaging. When I received the rug I noticed it was predominantly dark grey with some white strands. That combination gave the appearance of striped and bold which is too overpowering for my bath ambiance. The color won’t work for me. I think a better photo that shows the weave in full size and color would better serve Amazon shoppers.I bought the 2’3’ feet by 6 feet rug and there is no way this could be washed in my washer because it is heavy even before it is wet. Maybe it could be washed at the coin laundry that has heavy duty washers but I don’t have time for that, so I am returning the rug.

This review is for two rugs. Bought 2' 3" x 9" rug. Did immediate wash/dry with dryer sheets due to strong odors. New dimensions follow. Width 2' 1.25". Length with tassels 8' 6". Length without tasslels 8' 1". Also purchased 2' 6" x 4' rug of the same color from the same company on the same day. Had odors and needed washing. New dimensions 2' 5" x 3' 9" without tassels, 4' .5" with tassels. The larger of the two rugs has thicker weave and is not as tight as the smaller rug. The larger rug is also true to color in the picture. The smaller rug is only white on the end fringes. The smaller rug is grey/silver and true to the color description. Shipping was fast and I didn't pay extra. Each arrived in clear, thick plastic wrap that was closed with clear plastic tape. The product would have been dry if it had been delivered in a storm! Fabric manufacture's label was lightly affixed to the larger rug and easily removed. However, the paper label must have been on the smaller rug in a hot room for an extended period because it was difficult to take off. I would buy again, but calculate a 4ish% width reduction and an 8ish% shrinkage in length before purchase.

I absolutely loved this at first. Such beautiful colors and it was a perfect neutral color.I quickly learned however, that even on the highest brush setting, vacuuming it was going to destroy it. I tried it one time and never did it again. Over no more than two months, this thing is in shambles. The strips are coming out of nearly every seam. I have no pets and two small children, so it's receiving moderate traffic. I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of this typically respected brand.

We're immediately returning these rugs. They have a very strong petroleum-type smell. It's so strong it gave us a headache and made my wife nauseous. We washed one of them to see if we could get the smell out. But now we're having trouble getting the smell out of the washing machine. I guess we should have known better. This is the 3rd or 4th time over the years that we've ordered rugs from Amazon. Whatever the manufacturers treat them with before shipping them to the U.S. should be outlawed. We won't be ordering anymore rugs from Amazon.

The website description for this item is extremely misleading. It is NOT silver, it is blue and white striped. The blue and white that you see in the close up photos is what it looks like, whether you’re up close or far away; all you see are stripes.However, if you are looking for a blue and white striped rug, I think this is a really good choice. It was soft, didn’t smell, and felt sturdy. Wish the color description and photos were more accurate because I would love to keep this rug otherwise.

I painted my laundry room a slate gray color and was looking for a rug with white, gray, blue, and purple colors. From the other reviews it looked like I might get three of the four colors. As it turns out some of the gray does have a slight tint of blue to it so it is a pretty good match with my slate gray wall color, which can take on a hue of purple or blue depending on the lighting in the room. I suspect that some of the variations in color that are reported in the reviews have to do with either 1) the lighting in the room and/or 2) the fact that these rugs are hand-woven so there are going to be variations. In my case mine didn't have any flecks of any other colors as was reported in another review however I know with rag rugs it's not uncommon to have flecks of color being that they are handmade. I will also add that this is replacing another rag rug which was roughly 2x thicker than this one. I do wish it was as thick as the other but I also know that my color specifications were very unique so I'll take what I can get. I also do agree with a couple other reviews that said this rug is not "silver" nor as muted or neutral as the pictures show for the product. I am posting pictures that should help bring clarity as some of the other posted pictures were in rooms that were not very well lit. One is taken outside on a sunny day and the others were taken inside the room where the rug is currently.

We wanted a larger rug for our living room that wouldn't completely break the bank, and this is the one we picked! We really like it - the colors are great, and I like the tassel on the end. It's pretty low maintenance - I just sweep it off with a broom and that seems to keep it clean enough. The only think we don't like is that even with a rug pad, it's just not incredibly soft under foot. It feels similar to walking on bare floors, just not as cold. It serves our needs right now, but when we move we'll probably get a new one. If you're looking to put a run down over carpet or need one in a high traffic, non-cozy area, this one works great! I also sit on it a lot to play with my dog, and that's usually when I wish for a softer one. As an aesthetic piece, I would recommend it.

This rug looks good, a little bit rough, but the biggest problem it smells like mould very badly.So I send it to dry cleaners which cost me another 70$!
