BLACK+DECKER BL1400DG-P Quiet Stainless Steel Blender with Cyclone Glass Cup

I grew up hearing this loud blender crank up in the kitchen on mornings when my mother and father would be in a great mood and were going to start their day off with a fruit smoothie or something that required the blender. That noise was much LOUDER than the coffee maker or any other sounds coming from the kitchen and would typically wake me up, if I wasn't already awake!Fast Forward to NOW -I'm on a fruit smoothie kick - and seeing and feeling the benefits. I've made it through over 18 days of this, and my previous blender is so LOUD that it is causing issues with the neighbors that share my walls and floors near the kitchen.Its just probably 2 minutes of the day that I'm using the blender, but the previous noise level of the other blender was such that it was TOO LOUD.I decided to try this blender based on the fact that it is supposed to be a quieter than the other models. It IS much quieter, but I will say - when you are adding and blending ice into your smoothie, that is STILL going to sound like ice being shredded. I've learned to add liquid to the line of the ice, and that cuts down on a lot of the sound of the ice shred, but you will still HEAR the ice being shredded, to some degree.This blender does a great job with most fruits that I have added, particularly since adding this to the ice and water level where about 1/2 the blender is the ice/water mixture - and I'm adding fruits into this mix. The percentage of noise level reduction is probably about 1/2 to 3/4ths the amount of the volume that I would hear with my previous blender. This makes a significant difference, enough to where I would definitely recommend this make and model - simply for the fact that this is not going to be as LOUD as the previous models without the noise reduction system.Adding frozen fruits, that is about the same sound as chopping ice - so if you are looking to lower the volume level, add these after you have chopped the ice and added a water line up to the ice level, that should help with the volume level.My other blender worked great, no problems - and was actually around the same price point as this one, but the noise reduction feature of this is definitely worth it.

I got this to replace my previous plastic nutribullet. I figure I have had enough microplastics from using that and was happy to switch to glass. Well so far I love it. Its pretty sturdy and the glass seems strong enough for everyday use. It has a smoothie button you can use which makes it super easy. For smoothies I usually just do 2 cycles of the smoothie button and it blends down everything really smooth even seeds much smoother than nutribullet. Excellent value and would definitely recommend.

Overall, I love this blender, it works great. I'm please with it. I'm a little disappointed that the personal jar that comes with it is plastic and not glass. I ordered it because I thought the personal jar would have been glass too. Nevertheless, the versatility that comes with this blender makes it a must have.

LOVE IT!!!We have owned many blenders (Oster and Ninja) over the years. This blender is fabulous. First of all, it is very easy to clean. You don't have to deal with the silicone rings that are breeding grounds for mold (Ninja). Use it, rinse and hand wash, air dry and repeat. The top, as some have said is a bit tight when new. Easy fix - just soak it in very hot water and let air dry. It's a hard plastic so needs time to be broken in. The pouring spouts are great. Blender leaked on first use, but that was my fault as I turned the pitcher to remove from base.. DO NOT DO THAT.. just lift it straight up off the base. The motor is very quiet compared to other blenders. I can make a morning smoothie without waking everyone in the house. Actually, I can make my smoothie the night before, in the pitcher and put it in any container. Milk, yogurt, frozen fruit, and banana hardly separate. If it does it's just 1/4". Shake it up and you're good to go. We've made soup, shakes, smoothies, veg/fruit juice in it. All good. We have weddings coming up this summer and will surely consider this blender to be a gift.

I tried blending up a mixture of cottage cheese, grated cheese and marinara sauce and I wouldn’t, it would blend for a second, then it would just stop cutting the food, the blades where still spinning but nothing was happening. What had to be done was to push the food down into the blades and blend for another second and do the same thing again and again 9 more times for it to blend. After that I tried just blending ice because it has an ice function and I filled up 1/3 of the 48 oz glass cup with ice and hit the ice button. It blended the bottom ice some but not a lot and the rest of the ice that was not touching the blades was flung to the side of the bowl and obviously didn’t blend. This blender needs to babysit because u have to constantly push the food back into the blades.Quiet wise, it was alright, it’s not deafening but could wake a sleeping person.This was a waste of money, would not recommend it

We enjoy making slushy drinks with frozen fruit and ice. This blender works great! Wasn’t crazy about getting the extra bottle with it (don’t need more stuff) but it has become my favorite water bottle. Would definitely recommend this to others.

I love this thing...use it daily to make a pitcher full of iced smoothies. I just use water, usually oatmeal, a couple of scoops of protein powder, a couple of bananas and half pitcher ice. About 30 seconds later it's done...no ice chunks...all smooth and frozen. If I were still a margarita or daiquiri guy, it would do the trick. I've had it about 90 days, and it's just great...much quieter than my last several.
