Let's Do the Time Warp AGAIN!
The media could not be loaded. As a college student in the late 1970's, I would go with friends every weekend to see the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. Now we can relive the fun with this new game - a homage to the movie! Let's make the "world spin" and "give a toast" to this great holiday gift - perfect for friends and movie buffs!I received this game from the publisher - but trust me- I am THRILLED and my opinions should be considered totally my own.

Not fun, too simple, and boring
Let me paint you a picture:Four friends, two couples, have entertained each other for months by joining together for a rousing display of sportsmanship, friendship, and laughs and share another night of doing what they love: playing board games. Many options are given to them. From the classic bouts within the Game of Life to the ever-evolving boards of Betrayal at the House on the Hill, from Uno to Azul, no game scares them or leaves them with little entertainment. We all are members of the theatrical world in some capacity. In fact, the two couples met in a stage production of the very show this game is based on. a shared love presents to them in the form of a new discovered board game: Rocky Horror Show Party Game. As we opened the box with excitement, we saw the beautiful artwork of the game pieces, the design of the board, the variety of cards. We were intrigued by the short instruction manual, but our desire to escape Dr. Frank N Furter’s kept us wanting more. We began, wanting to build Rocky. And then….it sucked. It sucked, it truly, unequivocally, inexorably sucked. The instructions were so simple, it raised more questions. You could either breeze through the game, or get stuck in a never ending loop (we literally broke the game at the end and prevented anyone from actually winning). There were barely enough LIPS to go around, and we were only four people. You can play up to 6, but I don’t see how you would have enough of those for everyone.I don’t know what kind of testing is done for new board games, but University Games obviously didn’t do enough before releasing this uninspiring, cringe inducing collection of paper. It doesn’t deserved to be called a proper board game. If you want a more exciting game than this, play checkers. Seriously. Do not buy this game.

Definitely made for super fans
Got this as a gift for a friend who LOVES The Rocky Horror Picture Show. She loved it at had a really fun time playing, but it had a lot of lore and details that everyone else wouldn’t know from only seeing it a few times. Still fun but hard to play when not everyone knows the movie by heart.

Horror is almost the right name
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this game. As a Rocky Horror super fan family since the film first hit the screens in 1970s I thought it would be a great game for a rainy day on our holiday but I was so wrong! The pieces are cardboard which slot into a coloured plastic base, they won't last very long though the artwork is good. There were six of us playing which means we played the full range of characters, but there definitely was not enough lips for this, 40 would be nearer to whats needed for 6 players you need 5 lips to end the game, therefore only having enough for 5 each does not match reality as players can hold more than the required 5. The game concept is good but the actual strategy is flawed. The instructions do not answer all the questions that occur. The body parts are a slightly different size to the picture you build on which is irritating. If you are not an avid fan you won't know the responses to give watching the film once would not be enough, could improve the package by having a Dvd in the box with instructions to refresh memory before playing. It might help others to have the lyrics on a soundbite that can be accessed on a smart pbone via a link as an added extra. The playing pieces would be better off in metal or plastic at the very least. It's not a cheap game so not very good value for money, a huge disappointment as it should have been brilliant. one player even found it boring! A novelty yes, but not a game to be played over and over like more traditional games. I doubt that this game will reach high in the gaming charts.
