DELLA 1.6 Quart Ice Cream Maker Gelato Frozen Dessert Sorbet Frozen Yogurt Machine Touch Display

Works well so far. Definitely needs one hour for 2 quarts. Made chocolate, mache, and strawberry so far. I'm also using the Tovolo storage containers as I have already destroyed one Tupperware tub; they're perfect. I do not use the recipes that come with the machine as they look like they'll get icy. The touch panel is a little weird but there's not a lot of adjustment needed. For those commenting that the machine slows down when almost frozen -- that's what it's supposed to do -- it can also labor just before it stops and maybe sound a little grindy -- that's the gearing preserving the motor. Not to worry. At $249 there are quite a few machines that look a lot like this one. This "brand" got good reviews, so I went with this one. It also looked a lot like the Breville machine at $400. Follow instructions about placing the machine and letting it sit for a couple of hours. This will preserve the compressor. Do not store it on its side ever. I looks pretty well made. I haven't tried it for yogurt as I have another rig for that. Next week I'm going to try it out for Gelato; keep posted.

Key pad stopped working. When I contacted Della to see if it could be repaired this is the response. "I do sincerely apologize to hear the issue you are having with your item. Unfortunately, it appears you are out of warranty with us, once the warranty expires, we can no longer assist you with any parts, return, or replacement."I use this machine as often to make yogurt as I do to make ice cream. it keeps the mixture of milk and yogurt culture at the appropriate temperature and then automatically chills the yogurt. I make both ice cream and yogurt at least once a week. I'm not sure how long it will last as I've only had it a short time, but so far I love it!! No need to pre-chill the bowl and the ice cream ingredients can be used straight from the fridge. Great Product.

Had this since February. Used once a week...and it has died in September. A lot of money for 6 months

Love this machine great quality. Very impressive. Excellent design, quiet, easy to operate and it delivers the smoothest sorbets.

Best freaking purchase this year hands down !!!!I cannot day anything bad about this machine. My husband is a personal chef and made 128 quarts, 1200+ servings, of really heavy ice cream for the Mac and Cheese festival in Avila this year. He ran this sucker for 5days and nights almost non stop and it never even stuttered. Easy to use. Easier to clean.If you need an ice cream maker this is the one. Self freezing and churning.

This is the poor version of the Delongi unit. Never heard of this brand and probably for good reason. They don't even list a support phone number on their website, makes you wonder about the service backing of this product. This is not a quiet machine. The churning can be rather offensive at times. It ranges from a prolonged motor noise to an occasional high pitched squeal.Having used various devices for home ice cream for years I was hoping that this would be an easier way, but turns out it doesn't quite get the job done. I used varying mixtures of cream, milk, heavy cream and made about 6 batches. all had an excessive amount of ice bit in it regardless of what I did or how long I ran the cycle. The results ranged from watery to icy. Rather than get this unit, you're better off getting store bought.

First impression is that this machine is way too noisy for a small appliance. I don't even know if it was defective or working they way it was made. It's rather obviously not a high end product. It's very difficult to find any customer support info from this company and when you do manage to get a person, the interaction is almost comical. clearly not a brand that specializes in ice cream machines. they kept referring to this as an ice maker and giving me suggestions for regarding making ice. that was rather ironic given that the end product of this machine is more like suspended ice bits in a soft milky pool.bad first impression that didn't really get any better after 4 batches. I even gave the yogurt function a try and ended up with a sour smelling mess that was clearly inedible. I'm just going to treat this like silly experiment that wasted about half my day and cut my losses.

Works well, isn't loud at all.Easily cleans up with the removable basket!Have made ice cream a few times already, but haven't played with the yogurt setting yet.
