Brilliant!
Excellent book. It is much easier to bake from if you get a set of cup measures, which can be gotten cheaply enough. Have so far made the grasshopper pie, key lime pie, lemon meringue pie, apricot hand pies, buttermilk cream tart and lemon tartlets with meringue caps. Everything has turned out well, without any problem. There's a huge range of pies and tarts to choose from, should keep me occupied for quite some time!

Lovely recipes!
I already have Martha Stewart's Cupcake book and the new Pies book is just as promising. The recipes are divided into different sections and are easy to follow, even though the measurements are in American English. The photos are great as well.

Great book with great recipes
Great book with great recipes, tips and pics. Martha's recipes, classical or innovative, are always perfect also for an Italian baker!

Yet another fab book!
Martha, Martha, Martha.......where would we be without you? I have the other books in this range e.g cookies and the cupcakes. All very good books and well worth buying. The only downside I found with this book is that it was not obviously written by Martha herself because there are several descriptions on the pies stating that this is "Martha's favourite" pie etc....that's the only disappointing thing about it but it still deserves 5 stars for the content.

A little disappointed
I adore Martha's books but this one was not as perfect as others. In fact I made a stawberry tart for a dinner desert. Total disappointment and I think it was not my fault. I cook tarts many years now so I am experienced enough. Also, some other recipies I tried were so and so.Anyway, this is a tart handbook as it has many secrets for tart successes.

A very good book
An excellent! Book! Wide variety of recipes, great photos and everything very well explained!The only "flaw" is that the measures are american and we have to make equivalences!

Super Rezepte für typisch amerikanische Pies!
Das Buch ist wirklich richtig gut!Obwohl es auf englisch ist, kommt man mit den Rezepten sehr gut klar!(Wenn man etwas englisch kann und einen Internetzugang hat, umGewichtsumrechnungen nach zu schauen)Die Rezepte sind sehr gut geschrieben und leicht verständlich. Es gibtzu jedem Pie ein Bild, damit man weiß, wie er am Ende auch aussehensoll! Ich persönlich bevorzuge solche Bücher.Das Buch umfasst alles, um einen typisch amerikanischen Pie zu backen.Über Grundrezepte und Klassiker bis hin zu etwas ausgefallen Kuchen, diein Deutschland wohl nicht so bekannt sind, ist alles drin!Auch der Preis ist bezüglich des Umfangs und der Qualität der Verarbeitungdes Buchs gerechtfertigt.Von mir auf jeden Fall eine klar Kaufempfehlung!

Aunque está en inglés, las explicaciones son tan claras y precisas, marca de Martha Stewart, que no es nada difícil seguirlo, sobre todo gracias al apéndice de técnicas y paso a paso en la elaboración de masas.Multitud de ideas y recetas riquísimas para todos los gustos con fotos muy buenas. Eso sí, medidas en cups (o se tienen los cacitos medidores o una tabla de conversión).He hecho la Lemon Pie y me ha salido buenísima!!Lo recomiendo al 100%, y más al precio que está ahora

Pieno di interessanti e variate ricette
Come è ovvio che sia il libro di Martha Stewart è molto anglosassone, dalle unità di misura usate per dosare gli ingredienti (munitevi degli appositi misurini) e per indicare la temperatura del forno (gradi Fahrenheit invece che Centigradi) ad alcuni ingredienti. Ma superate queste iniziali difficoltà, tutto sommato non insormontabili, avrete a vostra disposizione un libro interessante pieno di spunti golosi, dolci e salati.Oltre ad apprezzare le numerosissime ricette, suddivise per tipo, ho trovato utili i capitoli in fondo al libro dedicati alle conoscenze di base: gli ingredienti, gli attrezzi e le preparazioni, queste ultime accompagnate da belle fotografie passo passo dedicate anche alla cura della loro presentazione.Se le crostate sono una vostra passione, non perdete questo libro.Pies and Tarts è molto più di un libro di crostate.E' una raccolta ricca di ricette dolci e salate, buone e ben presentate.Gli ingredienti, talvolta insoliti, sono sempre da acquolina in bocca.
