A while ago I bought a turntable which can connect to other devices via RCA connector, or Bluetooth. As I didn't have any speakers I had to use Bluetooth, which was OK. A few months back I inherited a very nice Bose hifi and wondered if I could connect the turntable to that so that I could use its built-in speaker, and I was surprised to find that it didn't support Bluetooth, nor did it have RCA connectors, just a 3.5mm AUX IN jack. However, the turntable's RCA connectors came via a pre-attached cable which had male RCA jacks, so in order to connect it to the Bose I needed to find a Y-shaped cable with female RCA connectors and a male 3.5mm jack.This cable does the job perfectly. It's very short - about 30cm or so - but as the cable attached to my turntable is long it's not a problem. The connectors all feel solid, the 3.5mm jack even has a protective plastic cap on it, and the cable itself has a braided cover. It comes in a small press-to-seal ziploc bag, and within seconds of opening it we had our old vinyl playing through the Bose and it sounded great.If you're looking for a connector like this you can't really go wrong with this one.

Functional cable
Used this to connect my now old school mini amp/ 3 way speaker set with 3.5mm line jack to an external DAC that is connected to PC by USB, but has a modern 4.4mm jack point for output. It seems well enough made and is doing the job. Doesn't seem likely to deteriorate or fail quickly. I can envisage paying a lot more maybe securing a minor improvement in sound quality, but I probs wouldn't tell the difference. Unless you are a fidelity fusspot this will do the job for you - if you have the rare use case that it fits.
