I have gone through several shears, mostly Fiskars, over the past few years. They all broke down at the pivot point. Tension adjusting Knobs broken or some other issue with the bolts/nuts. I looked over all the options on Amazon. Home depot mostly has fiskars so I did not bother. The reviews for thie gnome were very positive and the blades looked substantial and long. Well I tried it today on my ornamental grasses that needed to be cut back for new growth. These grasses are stout, grow to over six feet and are 3/8” in diameter in most cases. Well these shears cut through the grasses like a hot knife through butter. They performed better than any other pair of shears I have had. They are a bit heavy but that is due to the quality. The grips are effective and a good diameter. Control is easy and the vibration or rattle is minimal because of the rubber bushing. This is a substantial and very high quality tool. The blades are extremely sharp so do be careful when handling.

If you have some kind of massive hedgerow to take care of, you are probably using electric clippers. I have a few bushes that need clipping and I like doing it by hand, seems more personal this way.These are decent shears. I was not expecting them to cut as well as they do. If I lost these I would buy them again.

We are using it to trim bushes in the back yard.The product was most valued for being able to trim the hedges properly. It was a lot easier to use than the electric hedge trimmers. You can handle the product with ease - you don't get tired holding it. I wish I would have purchased this earlier.

My old shears, over 7 years old, were getting dull. My husband said he didn't have whatever to sharpen them. So, I got these. I like the cushion grips, I like how when something tuff needs to really be cut, the handles don't cross over each other where I bruised my knuckles. I like how long it is because I'm afraid of snakes hiding out in the bushes. One thing I don't like, is it doesn't have that notched out area midway up like my old shears, for cutting a particularly thick limb. That's one reason for one less star on the rating. I have suckers coming up from the Crape Myrtles that need to be chopped. I'll use my old shears with the cutting notch in it for that.

Ordered wrong item. It didn’t look like what it should. I wanted long thin thin blade fir grass or weed or small limbs. Much to heavy & thick for me. Whole reason was wrong tool.

Good quality! 24 Arborvitae tres o my property! Gotta keep that leader on each tree! Excellent for clipping but for large tree shaping go to the electric hedge trimmer but these are great for what I need them for!

Clippers work well but the end of the blades do not close completely. Would have given them a 10 rating but with the blade problem I will give them a 6.5.

These hedge clipper seem to do the job quite well. I have an Echo gas-powered hedge clipper. I bought these for small jobs when it isn’t worth the time and effort to get the Echo out. I find they are actually much easier to use than the powered clippers. They just don’t reach as far back.
