Kick Your Cravings to the Curb
Wow! I wasn't ready for this book. So many nutrition books get so much hype. They don't deliver. This book is different: it does. After reading it, I had a plan. I knew how to handle cravings. I knew exactly what to eat to watch them vanish. I knew precisely how many grams of carbs vs protein vs fat to consume daily.for my height and desired weight! I knew the foods to avoid, many of which I had added when I thought I was eating healthy. I knew I was right about intermittent fasting and how I could do it better. I knew the key products that should be mainstays like coconut butter and hempseeds. I learned about testing my ph levels daily and what they should be and found some great healthy shake recipes. I loved learning about a rebounder that sounds like so much fun. Now I have a plan and a resource to help me stay The course. Easy? Hell! no. I don't expect it to be a walk in the park. But if I can have more energy and eat immune fighting foods during these perilous times I will be happy. I know once I kick my sugar and carb cravings to the curb, the weight will roll off, my summer clothes will fit, and I will feel better. The author mapped it all out perfectly in easy to understand language and great resources. I'm beyond inspired and ready to share all the knowledge I gained from.this impressive book!!

FINALLY A DOCTOR WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT TRUE HEALTH!!
I have been going to Phountain for years now to get my alkaline water & some services to try to keep my body alkaline & I struggled with knowing what to eat that would help with the acidity of daily living until I found this book, Get Off Your Acid by Dr. Daryl Gioffre. I bought the book & while I was waiting for it to arrive I also decided to join & do the 7 day cleanse. I am almost done with this book, which I have found Dr. Daryl is not only super informative but he writes in such an easy to follow way. I have learned so much from this book & the 7 day Alkamind cleanse which I am on day 7 as I write & must say love this way of healthy eating (I haven’t cheated once). Between taking the daily greens & daily minerals & making such delicious meals, that are easy to make, I feel awesome & don’t want the cleanse to end!! Dr. Daryl also supports you the whole way through with such helpful tips & answers any questions that you might have. I can’t say enough about this book & I’m so happy I found out about it. Thank you Kelly Ripa for a post I read one Sunday morning when I wasn’t feeling as healthy as I know I could. This book & program has changed my life!! Thank you Dr. Daryl for writing such an awesome book & for helping us all become healthier!!

Not at all what I expected.
The little bit of preview that Amazon allows (or is it the author) was really basic stuff. So I purchased the book based on the reviews as combined, it looked worth reading.After receiving it, not so much. I wonder if, as with many other books, the first reviews that are all 5 stars were family or friends of the author. This does happen quite a bit. Based on the reviews, I wanted to love this book too. I just can't. I started to read it and as I got further into, it just got to be too much information all at once. Information overload. Then I checked out "Dr. Daryl's 80/20 Day: My go to regimen" (page 177) and that was it. I'm done. It seems like this is the kind of lifestyle best suited for those that have a lot of time for themselves and want to be hungry all the time- not to mention the 5 green drinks (his brand) per day with an Amazon price of $2.33 per serving. That comes out to about $373.00 per month just for that one drink.Just not for me. I'm sure I can find something less severe to reduce my acid issues.

This book is INCREDIBLE! Everyone needs to Get off Their Acid and read this book! :)
I just finished reading it, and WOW, this book is exactly what I needed in my life!Dr Daryl is extremely passionate about health and wellness, and after buying his Alkamind organic protein powders (which are yummy, I like the vanilla coconut), and his Daily Greens and Daily Minerals....I just HAD to get my hands on his book!Get Off Your Acid is more of a lifestyle change that a "diet".... and lets face it, diets work for a while ... until they don't!But this book will change your relationship with food, because you will be eating healthy food that tastes reeeeally good!This book is loaded with so much interesting information, and there are also great recipes in here (I love the Bloody Mary smoothie!) and since reading it, I have completely changed my diet to an alkaline diet, and I can see a difference in my skin and I have more energy!It's so nice to open my fridge and see the bright colors of various healthy vegetables... instead of the processed garbage that used to be there!Thank you , Dr Daryl!

Excellent book but needs better reference
This one is the one that connected dots for me in how I was eating. Within 1 week of drinking a bottle a day of 88 Alkaline water my pain is gone and energy up. A few comparisons of organic to GMO / chemically raised food but lacking there badly in comparison. Good news is the author is on the right track and it turned me around. So other than the very little organic to GMO references excellent book. I'm sleeping at night better too. Worth the read but if you are organic the scales on the comparisons may be way off. I'm eating organic...refer to the Bible for your superfoods, dairy, meat, fish if you eat it make it sparingly. I still enjoy a good burger w/cheese but only occasionally now.

This book gives you the theory but not enough of the practical support in terms of recipes
This offers a thorough, well-referenced explanation of the alkaline diet, the theory behind it and the health problems attributed to consumption of excess acid forming foods. However, there are plenty of websites saying there is no scientific evidence to support the claims, including the NHS.Gioffre’s claims about cholesterol are interesting and the book offers comprehensive resources, although many promote his various products. My main beef (no you can’t eat it on this diet) is that the recipe section is very disappointing. Of 55 recipes, 12 are for ‘mylks’ or smoothies. There are only 3 breakfasts, 8 snacks – many of which would take as long to prepare as a main meal - 9 salads, 8 soups and only 9 mains or ‘entrees’ one of which is simply sprouts with nuts and lemon so I’d call that a vegetable side dish. Most are unappetising and there are very few hot dishes to sustain you during a British winter – I embarked on this during a cold February.If you’re in the UK/Europe, there's the US measuring system of ‘cups’ to struggle with and no metric alternative. Many of the ingredients are vegetables or brand names you’ve never heard of. The book uses US measurement for cholesterol (mg/dl instead of mmol/L) so you have to keep looking things up online just to follow. I also wouldn’t recommend buying the kindle version which I found hard to navigate. Almost all the Alakline diet recipe books I’ve researched seem to come from the US. I’ve only found one UK book, which wasn’t highly rated so I can’t recommend anything.

GREAT
Great self-help book giving advice on reducing acid to improve health and wellbeing. Gives much information on gut health and foods to eat to alleviate gut/acid conditions. I am pleased with my purchase and would buy again.
