The preservative keeps any mold from growing from impurities or contaminates in my mix. I got the recipe from a german youtuber who recommended this powder to prevent mold from ruining the plates. The plates are used like gelli plates but are made from a mix of agar agar medium mixed with veggie glycerine. I like this, it works well, and I’m glad I got it.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

It arrived on time and in good condition. I haven’t use it. So can’t say a lot.

I love using this preservative in my products. It has a very low irritation chance and it’s easy to formulate with. It keeps my formulas stable for a long time and it works well I would highly recommend this

I make my own cosmetic and skincare products at home and I often use this product as a preservative. I also find that it helps hold everything together and stabilizes the formula. This bag holds roughly 3.5 oz and it’s a fine ground powder that is water soluble and supposedly slightly oil soluble. I have yet to attempt oil solubility but I plan to soon. It is also used as a food preservative in some circumstances (this product is not labeled as food grade). I try to keep my skincare products as safe as possible so I like to use edible and/or natural ingredients wherever possible. Sodium benzoate should be omitted in products containing vitamin C due to a possible chemical reaction leading to the formation of benzene, a carcinogen. It should be mentioned that other factors are necessary for this chemical reaction to occur, ie, UV light or excess heat. Despite this, formulators avoid pairing them altogether out of caution. This product is easy to work with. Thus far, I have used it in a small sample-sized serum recipe (UR-0.5%) and it worked very well. I am going to use it in face cream next time.

Sodium Benzoate has got to be one of the most widely used preservatives on the planet. It is the sodium salt of benzoic acid and it works well to prevent microbial growth within a certain pH range. It can be combined with other "co-preservatives" to be even more effective and broad spectrum, but even on its own, it works wonders.This powder is a breeze to use (though I wouldn't use it in a breeze). Dissolves easily, resealable bag, and it's a good price too. Fantastic product.
