HOUZER190-9265 3.5" Drain Openings Sink Strainer, Matte Black

We purchased a Houzer sink, and this drain was a recommended accesory. It matches the sink perfectly, and it looks and works great!One side note: we purchased the 190-9565 (disposal drain) flange at the the same time. These ARE matching items, but we were very unhappy with how the disposal flange let water drain. If I had to do it over, I would DEFINATELY purchase this item again, but would pass on the disposal flange, choosing to using the stainless steel drain flange that is part of the (recommended) InSinkErator garbage disposal.

Not only is it a good match for black granite colored sinks it also fits right and works fantastic. The center stopper will stay in the full drain position (up) while fitted into the lower half. You do not have to remove the stopper which should help prevent it from getting lost. Also, while in the drain position this stopper/basket acts as a strainer keeping out the pipe clogging debris. Just push down to fill the sink.

After doing quite a bit of research I settled on this sink strainer for my new sink. Many reviews of similar types that were metal with a black coating apparently chipped or peeled so I settled on this unit which is plastic and I have to say I’m very glad I did. This matches my black sink perfectly and it seems very durable so far.

Was impressed with the color (True Black) and ease of installation. Would have been 5 stars but the Sink Strainer is made of plastic. After we use it for a while I may re-rate this to 5 stars. Delivery was very quick.

Cheap and not the flat black it claims to be! Very disappointing

Works well and just what I needed to go with my Fanke granite composite sink. I was a bit hesitant as it is plastic and not metal, but time will tell how it holds up. As for others that have said "it does not fit flush to the drain hole"....that is because they did not read the directions. the rubber seal goes on the BOTTOM of the sink, you only need to use silicone under the top piece that does in the sink. Same as found in the big box stores, same price, but I did not have to go get it, it came to me!

I purchased this in matte black to match my black porcelain sink because I really didn't want stainless or chrome. Unfortunately this is a very dark matte gray with speckles of lighter gray. I'm going to keep it until I can find something better but I'm pretty disappointed in the color difference. I know "monitors" and all that, but this is definitely not black.

This review is long in coming. . . I’ve had this product for two years. I wanted a black sink strainer for a vintage sideboard sink and was impressed by the positive reviews of this one. Don’t be tempted to think that metal is better than plastic. . . This must be NASA plastic. It hasn’t chipped or faded yet. Highly recommend!

So far so good. Very economical for a matte black finish.

I needed a matte black drain to match my matte black faucet and this was perfect! It’s is ABS, not metal, which is fine as I know it won’t rust. The basket plug is great. So far so good. If I have any issues I will update my review.
