HVAC Air Door Actuator Heater Blend Door Levers Compatible with 2004-2013 Chevy Impala Replaces 604-108 1573517 1574122 15844096 22754988 52409974

I installed one of these blend door actuators in the outside air delivery port on my 2010 Chevrolet Impala LT. Although the product works flawlessly, I have an FYI. It's position on this car makes it very difficult to reach. The repair manual states that you need to remove the dashboard for the repair. That sounded like entirely too much work. So, I put on my contortionist hat and started the repair without removing the dash. This car uses 3 actuators (all the same part). One for left air temperature control. One for right air temperature control. And the one I replaced which controls the inside air recirculation, and the outside air input. I have replaced all 3 of these at least twice. They have gears inside that are made of plastic and they just wear out over time. Luckily this time I was replacing the inside/outside air actuator. It is the easiest of the 3 to access. The replacement takes quite a while simply because it is difficult to access. It is held down with only 2 screws but reaching them is difficult. Mine is located behind the glove box which easily pulls down. The other 2 are located more towards the center of the dash. Those are the hardest to reach. Oh, and don't forget that you will need to line up the spindle to the same position as the shaft so it will fit properly. So, if you intend to do your own repair, just keep in mind that it may be difficult to reach, and time consuming. As I stated, the part is great. It matches or exceeds the OEM part. It's just the repair that is difficult.
