Great gift
We used this at the lake and it was such a hit. It was so much fun to control it and watch the speed of it doing flips and such. The battery life is a little short but for the price it was fair. The quality was pretty cool and the performance was amazing.

Speed is NOT variable!
I posed a question here as to whether the speed was variable or just on/off. I was told the speed was variable. It is not! It is on or off in each direction. No movement until you push either joystick to a extreme limit, hear/feel a slight button push kind of click and the motor runsA secondary comment is that the lock on the battery hatch is very hard to operate. I almost needed pliers to turn it. Also, the design is such that water collects around the edge of the hatch and it is difficult to open the hatch w/o getting water in the battery compartment. One positive note is that I like the battery form. It pops in with contacts structured like power-tool batteries so no tiny possibly fragile wires and connectors to deal with.

Very fast, Very fun, for a short time.
This remote controlled boat was a huge hit for our 3 year old. Aaaaaand myself haha Impressively fast and the built in tricks in the remote are fun to use. Only con is that it does drain the battery pretty fast. Thankfully they do include a second battery so you can switch them out and keep going. Would purchase again.

Small
Way smaller and light weight than I thought it was going to be. I wanted to attach a gopro and drive it as we were catching a fish. I think it will sink with the smallest gopro I have

Fast and fun remote control boat!
This is a pretty fun remote control boat - it's much faster than you would think it would be and is highly maneuverable owing to being able to spin it's propellers indepedently - so it can turn very quickly indeed. IT also has some cool one button moves/tricks.Setup is very easy - you simply charge the two included batteries (that go in the boat - one at a time) using any phone charger wall plug and the included USB-A to USB-C cable (or you can use your own USB-A to USB-C cable if you prefer - it will not work with USB-C PD cables since it doesn't "request" the voltage). Once those are charged which is reasonably quick, you install one in the boat which is toolless - you simply test the "lock" which looks like a fin and lift the panel, slide in the battery and replace/relock the panel. For the remote, you need 3 AAA batteries which aren't included, but are easy to install. The boat "turns on" when you put it in the water - it has sensors on the back that detect when the back of the boat is in the water and turn it on, a nice safety features since the propellers to stick out the back. Then you're ready - that's it really.Note that because of the unguarded "sticking out of the back" location of the propellers, I wouldn't use this in a bathtub (at least not with a person in said tub) and it's really too fast for that anyhow. It's better in a pool (ideal) or perhaps a small lake that doesn't have much current to pull the boat out of range. All in all, the boat and remote are thoughtfully design and well-executed. It's likely to be a summer-time hit if you have water around to use it in. The build quality is reasonable for the price - it should last if taken care of (though the propellers might be a weak point) but is unlikely to become an heirloom item.So if you're looking to put a new spin on pool or lake time fun, give this boat a try today!
