Easy fire starter.

Burn a little fast but light easily.

I recently experimented with a $30 pack of fire starters, aiming to find a convenient option for my hiking and backpacking trips. The good news is they ignite easily and quickly catch fire. However, their advertised burn time of up to 10 minutes is quite overstated. The longest burn I've managed is about 4 minutes, with a decent flame present only in the first 2 minutes.I also tested these fire starters as an emergency cooking fuel, but they didn't perform well. In a windless environment, they almost brought 200ml of water to a boil, but the flame weakened too soon to be effective. The situation worsens with even a slight breeze.Another major issue is the soot - they emit a lot of black smoke, leaving a stubborn residue on cookware that's hard to clean off. Although these packets are small, lightweight, and convenient for packing, they're best used just for starting fires, with additional dry fuel sources prepared.For cooking needs, Esbit cubes are a much more efficient option, while Duraflame Firestart CUBES are better suited for fire starting, reliably burning for more than 10 minutes. They might be a bit bulkier, but their performance justifies the size

They work great, Small and compact for travel and stay lite for about 5 min. I would recommend and buy again.

Great product works great it easy to light quick fire starter

These are good to have on hand in case of emergency or with your camping gear. I have mine in a cabinet in our camper and thankfully they were there after our last adventure! It was a total washout of a camping trip, so all of our wood was drenched. With some dry papers, cardboard, smaller sticks and a few of these fire starters I was able to get the fire going in the rain and keep it going until it cleared out by the evening. Unfortunately, they do not burn for very long at all, so I did have to use a few rather than just one. They are a plastic wrapper around a dried lighter fluid type substance (definitely smelled like lighter fluid). I do not like the fact that they were wrapped in plastic to burn, but I guess that would make it easier to throw into a hiking bag and it will remain dry. 100 count for $25 seems decent, until you realize you'll need at least 3 for a decent start to the fire (even with dry conditions).

Not my first time using this product which is why I keep going back. Reliable every time. Easy to use and compact. It gives a flame every time even in a heavy rain.

Much better than the first similar starter that I bought. Light easily and fires up instantly.
