Good and well-organized reference book for people that want a cheat sheet for a ton of plants and like to have something physical as a reference rather than search the web. It's well organized enough that looking in the book is often quicker than doing an internet search and weeding through the posts until I decide which webpage is the best reference for what I want. Fantastic book with great illustrations that make it so so easy to identify plants and propagate them. If you have never tried grafting or propagation you need to. It is really fun to play with flowers and trees. I have had limbs break from trees and actually grafted them back on and they have formed a "scar" and survived happily. You can also graft different colored roses together to have multi colored rose bushes....multiple types of fruits on one tree. Propagation and grafting is great. And easy. So is this book.

It is a good book though being so wide some times lacks some detail in each of the growing techniques. Therefore, good to have a general knowledge, but not a super specialised in each of the techniques.

This was to replace the same book I lost some years ago. Excellent info on plant propagation.

I was given a copy of this years ago and have filled it with notes. I keep needing to lend it to people so now I need a new copy! It's extremely helpful. I was/am a beginner but this book gave me the courage to try propagation.

My second book by Lewis Hill and it's just as good as the first one, "Pruning Simplified" i highly recommend his books. Very practical, informative, concise and inclusive.
