I usually stay away from abrasive physical exfoliants, opting instead for chemical treatments that more gently encourage cell turnover. But now I've discovered a GENTLE exfoliating scrub with this mask by Blue Lagoon Iceland! I love how simple and unassuming the packaging is. It's in a tube, like toothpaste or acrylic paint or something. As basic and pedestrian as the tube might seem, what's inside is pretty special. It's a black volcanic clay mask with a super fine exfoliating grit from THE Blue Lagoon in Iceland, a spot I've always wanted to visit. It feels really good to use, but the first time I was afraid to see how red my face would be afterwards. Surprise! It wasn't red at all, really. This mask is shockingly gentle, and left my face feeling so fresh and clean and soft and new! I loved how it looked and how it felt. And speaking of how it felt, you don't have to worry about who suffered for your pampering because all Blue Lagoon products are vegan and 100% cruelty-free!This mask is expensive, but it might be worth paying more for, especially if it's reserved as a special treat or used in preparation for special events. That's how I'll be using this stuff, anyway, because I probably can't afford to buy more when it's gone. Fortunately, a little goes a long way, and I think this tube will last me a good while. If your finances are looser than mine, though, this is a spectacular way to treat yourself to some Icelandic pampering and seriously good skincare!

I love a good exfoliating mask, and this one is actually a really good one. They found the perfect balance between not being so abrasive that scratches your skin, yet being abrasive enough to actually physically exfoliate. I can definitely tell the difference after I use this in both luxe and feel. My skin looks much smoother and more radiant, and my pores look uncongested. It also leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth.No, of course we have to talk about that price… That price is insanity in my opinion. I don’t mind spending a decent amount of money on skincare I mean I bought 60 $70 moisturizers before quite frequently, so I get it. But $90 for an exfoliating face scrub/mask… I’m not seeing anything in the ingredients list that actually justify that, and while I see pretty decent results, it’s not life-changing either. Then again, keep in mind that I’m a single mom that works two jobs and has like no savings so I don’t have money to drop on something like this. But if you do by all means, it’s a great exfoliating mask!

I LOVE this Blue Lagoon Resurfacing Volcanic Lava Scrub Face Mask! I am picky about exfoliating products because they are either too gentle to be considered exfoliating or are so harsh that they irritate my skin, leaving it red and irritated. This was the perfect balance between the two.I love the color and consistency of this scrub. We have a shower mirror in our shower that my husband uses to shave with and the first time that I caught a glimpse of my face covered in this, I was surprised by how dark it is. It truly is a jet black lava scrub!The consistency is perfectly spreadable and slightly gritty. (perfect for deep cleaning without being overly abrasive!)The toothpaste like tube is on the smaller side but you don't need much to get the full effects.I didn't notice much of a fragrance.Once applied, my skin feels a little tingly. I feel like I am treating myself to a luxurious spa treatment when I use this. I didn't experience any redness, burning, or other irritation when using it.It does take some effort to rinse off so I always apply and rinse during my regular shower. Less messy than doing it over the sink!After rinsing, my skin feels INCREDIBLY soft, hydrated, and silky. My pores appear minimized and my makeup applies nicely, even without a primer! LOVE IT!

You won't need a lot of this scrub to do the job, and it does the job very very well. Squeeze gently because this will keep oozing out if you are not careful. Take a small amount to begin because it is abrasive, and you may find you only need that first little squeeze.Using circular motion on a damp face, spread this carefully without touching your eyes. You will not have to scrub very hard to feel the exfoliation happening. Massage the scrub into your skin gently for a minute or two and then rinse it off with warm water. It may take some doing to get it all off, but it will be easy to see what is left to rinse because this is a very dark scrub, and you will see the little bits of silica as well as that black lava mud.Your face will experience a mild tingling but that is all. It won't be red or irritated or feel dry at all. It will be smooth, with a very fresh look. It will feel brighter, cleaner, and your pores will be invisible. I followed up with my usual moisturizer. They advise using it once or twice a week, and that seems about right to me. I look forward to using this scrub on a regular basis.This is a very good product. It isn't the Fountain of Youth, but to this 70-something it feels like the next best thing. I love how it makes my skin look and feel. This is an easy 5 stars.

This tube came looking a bit mashed up. It's just a tad bit larger than a travel toothpaste tube. The content was liquidy, not what I expected. My face didn't feel any difference after I used it. I was hugely disappointed on multiple levels! I had purchased the Blue Lagoon - Deep Cleansing Silica Face Mask before in Iceland and I loved that product! I've used better scrub masks from other brands. I wished I could have given this a higher rating and a more positive review.
