Amazing Value
This was an amazing value for the cost. Very good quality. Be aware it is going to take time and tools to put together. My husband and father-in-law are contractors and it took them about 5 hours. They joked you get such a good deal because you aren’t paying for 1,000 dollars in labor! You essentially build this entire thing from scratch minus cutting the wood and boring the holes, but it is really worth it!There were some reviews where the pole above the swing is not straight, but that is because the v support is not meant to be at a 90 degree angle, but some folks were placing it that way.All in all this is a great swing-set, at a great price, weathered wood, swings work great and my kids love it!!!!! I love that it came in one box!

Quality Product
Previous reviews also mentioned that assembly could be difficult. I finally figured out a system to assemble which decreased assembly time. Laying out all parts orderly is a must. Reading instructions at least three times while preforming assembly helps. Also looking ahead three or four pages helped to orientate position of some boards greatly helped. This is note a quick assembly so be prepared to take your time. Also worth mentioning is that stakes proved to anchor it down will not work if you have solid hard ground. The stakes are wooden and split when I tried to drive in with a sledge hammer. Purchased anchor hardware from local hardware store made of medal stakes, wire rope and anchor bolts ($50). I have been in the automotive maintenance field for over 30 years so putting together wood made kits is not my 1st choice. However, for the price, it has hard to pass up. Took approximately 10-12 hours for me to assembly. I had on tools needed to assembly. You will need a set of extra hands on some of the assembly. Finish product looks great and was kid and mom approved.

Overall quality is ok, not great or bad, just OK.
For the price it isn’t bad, not great it’s ok. So far I’ve had it up for a month and it seems to be handling the wind, rain etc fairly well. Overall it’s fairly sturdy. My swing came in a huge box and everything was packed very well. We only had one missing bolt which was remedied with a quick trip to the hardware store. From start to finish it took me 5 hrs working by myself, I do have a lot of construction experience and even I was confused at times reading the instructions, but it’s still aProject that anyone with basic common sense can easily handle. My son and grandson seem to really enjoy playing on it and it gets them outside and off the video games, so for me anyways that’s a win!

Worth it
Perfect for children under 8 . I’ve got a two year old who’s been wanting to climb everything lately, this is perfect for her to get her practice climbing at home compared to the park . Super adorable . My step father put it together . He spilt it into two days of assembly .. he said the the instructions were easy to read and that it was better than he had expected it to be. Appears to be pretty sturdy I personally wouldn’t sit down on there to swing just to be safe Granit it’s perfect for the kids !! Everything was included that we needed aside from tools . Daughter seems to enjoy it so I would say mission accomplished!

Awesome
Really great bang for your buck option. Perfect for my two year old. She loves it so very much! At some point we’ll probably replace the chalkboard tarp with a board painted with chalkboard paint because the tarp is hard to write on. We were able to easily switch the one swing with a baby swing for our infant. Looks nice and is sturdy.

Unsafe and Poor Quality – Not Worth the Risk
We purchased this KidKraft Appleton Wooden Swing Set in January 2025 for our daughter’s 2nd birthday, but due to Wisconsin winters, we didn’t assemble it until the weather warmed up. Unfortunately, once fully assembled, it became immediately clear that this set is not safe for any child to use.Several of the wooden beams arrived cracked or split, including the main support beam for the swings—which is a major structural safety concern. Some of the boards were also warped, misaligned, and the overall construction feels flimsy even when assembled exactly according to the instructions. The biggest red flag: the swing structure actually tipped when our 2-year-old (just 30 lbs!) sat on the swing for the first time. This is unacceptable for a product marketed for toddlers and young children. We contacted KidKraft and are requesting a full refund, as the issues are far beyond what replacement parts could fix. This was incredibly disappointing and frustrating for something that was meant to bring joy.Do not recommend—save your money and avoid the safety risk.

Built to Last – And the Kids Still Love It!
We’ve had this full wooden playground set for almost 2 years now, and it’s been nothing short of amazing. The build quality is top-notch—it’s held up through some serious weather without any issues. Most importantly, my kids are still obsessed with it. Even after all this time, they play on it constantly.Compared to other sets we looked at, this one was worth the extra cost for the durability and the joy it brings. Highly recommended for any parent looking for a long-lasting backyard upgrade.

Not Bad, Not Great
I bought this swing set on sale for $300 and honestly it was worth the price but just barely. The wood is very cheap but all in pretty good condition other than some warping on a few pieces. I learned quickly that you don’t tighten the screws until they are tight but just before the washers start digging into the soft wood.Assembly took a long time but the instructions were actually pretty good. I did run into a number of problems where the pre-drilled holes just didn’t line up right. I double checked the instructions and I was definitely doing it the right way. The swing set ended up being pretty crooked even though 90% of it was pre-drilled holes. I ended up drilling my own holes and shifting some of the boards to get it more level. The swing set itself is not very sturdy but they do provide wood stakes to help keep it steady. Make sure you have an area of flat ground otherwise it’s a lot more wobbly. All in all the set looks nice and works but I don’t think I’d let anyone over 8 years old play on it. I sat on a swing and it felt sturdy enough but I didn’t dare actually swing.
