An excellent cutter. Works well.
Not sure why all the bad press about this cutter. It works very well, is well built, and the handle is plastic but quite sturdy in my opinion. No complaints here!

I must not know how to use this
Okay, a YouTube video said I should get this tool rather than trying to use a utility knife. So, I did. When I first received the tool, I noticed that there was a chip in the blade that was already mounted in the tool. Okay, I thought, I'll just use one of the replacement blades provided. The replacement blades seemed to be coated in some gunk, so I cleaned them off. "Small set-back," I thought, and proceeded with my project.I placed the laminate to be cut on my worktable and clamped my straightedge down so that it wouldn't slip. Then I tried to score the laminate, just like the video said. The blade kept wanting to wander from the straight edge. Examining the tool, I could see that the way it is designed, it is difficult to hold aligned with the straight edge without tilting the tool, which tend to steer the tool away from the guide. I tried only using the corner of the blade, I tried resting the flat edge of the blade on the laminate. There must be some secret to using this thing that I just don't know. I could not score along the same line twice, no matter what I tried. My laminate chipped terribly when I attempted to break it along the score. Luckily, I had left enough of an overhang that I was able to fix it during the trimming process. But, I expected it to be more precise, like a glass cutter. It wasn't.They say that practice makes perfect. I'll update this review if I discover the secret. But otherwise, I think I could have just used a utility knife and gotten better results.

Excellent product to cut plexiglass, very durable & easy-to-use, worth the money.

Close to trash
Right out of the box the chrome like plating was flaking off the blade. The weld of the blade is pretty ugly, and unprofessional. The two extra blades have some dirty sticky substance on them and are also poorly welded. My biggest pet peeve is I have to waste my time and gas to drive a 1/2 hour away to drop this off to a UPS center to return it and another 1/2 hour back, all at my expense. True, this thing was inexpensive, as the saying goes "you get what you pay for"!!! Not good.

Average tool, got the job done, but could use a couple improvements.
I got this score cutter to replace the linoleum floor in my downstairs powder room. This is only the 3rd tlme I have put in a linoleum or vinyl floor and I just used a razor blade that I had on hand to cut theLinoleum to the size I needed. I didn’t expect to need to use as much force as I did to score the linoleum sheets with this new carbide scoring cutter. I had to go over the same line 3-4 times with extreme force to cut deep enough to snap the pieces without tearing. All three ‘new’ blades that came with the cutter showed signs of rust, which leads me to believe they either weren’t ‘new’ or more likely, not stored properly prior to purchase. The third complaint I have is the cheap, hollow, plastic handle that doesn’t feel very comfortable nor durable while using. Even with the complaints that I have with this scoring blade, it got the job done, and held up fine. I also expect the problem with the condition of the Carbide blades is just a fluke and likely won’t be an issue in the future. Overall, the cutter does the job ( with a good amount of force applied by user) and is rather inexpensive. I give it 3 stars.
