Used these for an herb garden. Worked well, they are inexpensive but sturdy enough.

For the cost of one clay, fiberglass or Rubbermade planter, I got 12 of these. They are not super heavy duty, but I didn't expect that for the low price. The plastic is flexy and about as sturdy as a jug of liquid detergent, or dollar store plastic tote, etc. Snapping the base in place really firms things up. Color perfectly matches ceramic/clay pots and planters. They are very attractive and will hold up fine in locations where they won't get hit with a Weed Wacker or mower. We use them to pre-plant flowers and take to the cemetery. In the fall, we'll gather them up to reuse next year.

My greenhouse has wire shelving so the planters on the lower shelves have access to the water system. Whenever I pull these planters out to either pull a stray weed or to harvest some of the herbs, the little nubby legs on the bottom catch on the wire. They have to be lifted up and over the wire. Which also means they have to be lifted over and above the wire shelves to put them back. Just a small inconvenience otherwise the planters work great.

I habe filled all of them with various plants around my yard. None of them have broken. They all work as advertised. Good size, not too flimsy. They do sit a bit wonky in their tray when filled with dirt but not too bad.

I used them to plant tomatoes, it has been 4 months and they are growing very well now. With the drainage tray, I always put more water in and repeat it every two days in the summer. In this case, I don't need to water my tomatoes every day. It looks like they are made with good quality plastic too, let's see how long they can last outdoor.

What started as a simple project of starting a few plants from seed has turned into a mini farm. After building a large garden to hold said seed-started plants, my wife mentioned planting some herbs. That was not part of the original garden plan. I saw these planters and thought I could easily place them on the top rail of garden fence (needed to build a garden fence around garden to keep the critters out....like I said, a simple project turning into a major engineering project).These planters fit nicely on the top rail, hold the dirt and the herbs are starting to grow. I do like the drainage tray on the bottom of the planter so I can water the herbs and know the water is draining properly.Since this is the first year for these planters, I don't know their longevity or years of use. But for the price, they do the job I needed them to do.
