Excellent item and excellent customer service. unfortunately, the original unit I received was faulty and did not work. Through my own laziness I did not try to return the item. Upon reading my review, cable matters contacted me and arranged for a replacement to be sent out immediately. The replacement works perfectly and I cannot recommend this company enough.

I used this to Mirror my iMac through my Sony VPL projector. Worked perfectly for two months then suddenly died (I think it came loose and fell out while projecting so avoid that).I happened to notice Ashley's review on this page, and that Cable Matters had responded, suggesting he contact them at support@cablematters.comI did just that explaining the problem and to their huge credit Cable Matters sent me a replacement cable straightaway from the USA. Not many electrical goods firms can claim to be that attentive to their customers.

Works well, and of good, durable build. Would buy again.

Bought so I could add a second monitor to my iMac. Works perfectly, and the display is definitely sharper than when I attach the same screen to my Windows laptop. Neat little cable, worked first time, good quality, would definitely recommend.

I bought this along with a different brand version of the same item. Running two identical AOC monitors from a MacBook Pro.This one doesn't quite fill the screen of the monitor when running at 1080 resolution (2cm of black on one side of the screen and one cm on the other). I swapped the ports, and the monitors an it seems that it is definitely this adaptor which is a fault. Picture is ok and usable but I would like it to fill the whole screen like the other one (TOPELEK brand which cost about £1.50 more). So, maybe pay a fraction more to get a better result.

This is just as good as the official product. Does the job and not that pricey. I'm using it to connect my macbook pro to a full hd 1020p 26inch monitor.

I bought this product as I had a presentation to deliver, and had lost my original one, which was an Apple one that sells for about £22 or there abouts.Before this one could arrive in the post, I found my old one, and comparing the Apple one to this one, I cannot see why anybody would go for the pricier option. They look, feel and operate the same.I wish I could say more, but thats it. Don't waste your money on an Apple one.

Although some reviews are decent, this product should not be trusted. was delivered exactly as described and worked for about a month, after which it would intermittently and unexplainably stop working, almost behaved like a dodgey headphone jack. once i got to the point where my patience with the dodgey cable was to an end i decided to take it apart, and discovered wires without insulating covers and connections between the wires and the via conversion chip were very weak and poorly soldered.PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO UNPLUG IT OR MOVE YOUR COMPUTER IN ANY WAY THAT MIGHT PUT A STRESS ON THE CONNECTORmight sound a bit over frustrated, but please do not waste your time and money with this product
