I really like how simply Elise breaks down training methodology in her book. Excellent resource for those of us who are new to positive reinforcement training for horses.

I couldn't wait to receive this book! I read it and started implementing what I learned within a few days. What I learned helped me fix an issue with my horse. Couldn't be happier!

WOW!! This is the book we've been waiting for in the field of equine behavior and training. It is very well written and gives an excellent rundown of the use of positive reinforcement in horse training.

I really liked this book. Alot of great information. I still believe a horse needs to learn to move off pressure also though. Otherwise, horses can become dangerous

Great book for working with/training horses. There are breakdowns of how to accomplish training certain behaviors/responses. I wish it had body posturing for horses.

Some what disappointing. Good for a start into force free trading but lacking a little In the in depth information side . Hoping for more but not a bad book.

I am professional horse behaviour consultant and animal trainer and this is currently the ONLY book I can recommend without reservation to owners of equines. It's the only book on using positive reinforcement with horses that doesn't at some point encourage owners to continue using pressure to produce behaviour and then add a treat on top. Bearing in mind that English is not the writer's first language, the material presented is simple, to the point, technically accurate in terms of the science and has some beautiful photography. I would never encourage someone to train a horse from a book - and neither does the author - but this is recommended reading for anyone who does come to me for help, or who wants to introduce a friend to the concept without overwhelming them.

Just received my copy and it is a great read! Good and clear explanations of the foundations and a several nice ideas. Would love to see another book containing more ideas and exercises!

i loved this book in it's clear and helpful explanations of +R and it really helped me to get started without making as many mistakes as I would have without it. Great images to help guide you through this exciting and force free way of training horses that create horses that want to engage.
