Very impressed
Very much an initial review but I’m very impressed with entire process so far. Well packaged, shipped and arrived quickly, factory packaging very well done. I was replacing a 15 year old GE Profile 30” gas cooktop with tempered glass top that got accidentally broken. This proved to be as simple a replacement as one could hope for with granite pre-existing cut out.My ONLY regret in comparison is that my old cooktop had porcelain coated cast iron grates, which I didn’t fully appreciate until this cooktop. the porcelain makes sliding post much less abrasive during the “slide”. But honestly that is not fault of this cooktop many high end tops have straight cast iron. It’s just different.I’m a product developer and this is a very smart design for a 30” cooktop. Very intelligent allocation of space to maximize grill surface area vs. user controls. They are up front, well consolidated, yet big enough and well made. Love the fact they are metal and removable to aid in cleaning. There is no doubt you need to be careful pulling and replacing the grates from the cooktop as the metal will scratch if carelessly sliding around on the stainless steel but that’s just common sense really. From a design/functional standpoint my only wish is that it had one LED indicator light that a any burner was on, placed right in front with the knobs. My previous cooktop did not either and I have been known to leave one burner at simmer by accident. Not at all a deal breaker as this is my problem, not the cooktops, but it is a nice feature and I nearly bought a Bosch with that feature but alas it was 5mm too wide to fit. This one is $450’ish dollars cheaper and I do not feel like it was a sacrifice, I’m that impressed.Noting that I’ve only had this installed for 3 days, I would say this is a great product and a huge value![update] - I decided to take steps to improve the surface and finish of the standard grates and sanded and seasoned them. This has proven to be a MAJOR improvement.First I used 100 grit sand paper for metal on a palm vibration sander and smoothed the top surface where pots would slide and also a bit round the bottom edges that contact the stainless steel cooktop, just to smooth that out a bit too. This was not a all difficult and took maybe 10 min. I didn't go crazy just sanded enough to make the top noticeably smoother. Then I seasoned the grates and the griddle supplied. I used the same tried and true cast iron season process you can find on the internet. Cleaned and well dried grates, coated with oil, in my case spray Canola oil and worked it in well by hand. I left the rubber feet on by they since they are heat resistant, I would not remove as they are glued in. Then 40 min a preheated oven at 350 degrees. Then out to cool. Second coat, not as heavy but still all surfaces and back into oven at 450 deg. for 45 min. Beware that this will smoke a bit when you open the oven door so ensure you kitchen it well ventilated. The finished surface is much smoother, much darker and has that nice seasoned cast iron bark on it. I also seasoned the burner caps to make them easier to clean and rust resistant. I am really happy with the results. well worth the effort and I would recommend doing this right away upon install. Pots slide much smoother as well, not as smooth as preclean but much better than original.

Top Notch Propane Stovetop
Packaging - Delivered in perfect condition, Well packaging design.Installation - Usually straight forward, when replacing gas unit to gas unit. I am converting from 220v electric to propane gas. The cutout had to be modified, the outdoor kitchen cabinet is considerably thicker. LPG conversion - Pulled out 220v breaker, tuck/ secured wires in box and cabinet, installed 110v receptacle for igniter, purchase (2) 20lb tanks, RV Stand & Cover, RV two stage regulator, flexible gas line, and fittings. Replaced supplied 7 orifices, drilled holes and pulled gas line to stove, placed/ secured cooktop, wrenched gas connection and tested for leaks, adjusted flames on all burners, seasoned grates and griddle.Pros - Well made very sturdy, nice looking cooktop, excellent instructions(1 exception screws are really 3.5mm bolts), heavy cast iron grates, griddle included, metal knobs, igniter is the first position when first turn on. BIG ONE well adjustable flame on every burner, literally every burner has low and simmer. Cleaning is easy, especially because I cut the stove cover to fit burners.Cons - Grates cannot be individually removed, the center one connects to the side (more of an inconvenience). Securing the cooktop connector could be a better design, Had to disassemble stove because the bracket slid inside the unit. A simple spring clamp or pressure clip would have been a lot more convenient.I did purchase 36”x24” solid rubber rug as a cooktop cover to keep it dry during rain.

Middle burner
I like everything about it except the middle burner. The outer ring functions well with big flames as pictured but the inner ring looks like a circle of pilot lights. You cannot see the flames come out from under the burner cap. I called frigidaire. They have no technician to talk to. You can only schedule an appointment for someone to come out and that 3rd party will not answer questions or troubleshoot over the phone. I just want someone to answer why is the inner ring burner so weak and is this the normal function?

Excellent quality and a great price!
We received our cooktop carefully packed in its factory box and have been pleased over the months we have used it. Some key features we looked for: our prior cooktop had the burner settings printed on the cooktop surface. They wore off quickly. These settings are printed ON THE DIALS. The dials are sturdy. The overall construction of this new unit is sturdier and better designed than our prior unit.
