Samsung MU6100 40-Inch SMART Ultra HD TV

Great TV - does what it says on the box - clear sound, good picture, easy to set up and well worth it.

I bought one of these for uhd gaming, for the most part the picture is good, decent refresh rate and clarity. The problem is I didn’t do all the homework I should have.There is a defect with the firmware on this model that means when you plug in uhd hdmi source you can experience random green and pink flashes across the whole screen.Samsung offer a firmware update for it you can download and install but will not accept a return of the unit according to support forums I’ve found.If you are only using an hdmi source that’s not connected via hdmi, streaming Netflix or prime for example this issue will not occur.

Product came quickly the suppler arranged ro delay delivery for me as i knew that I wasn't going to be in. The tv was easy to set up. The ariel fitting was a little tight I had to really push it in. The TV is very good as what you would expect from a Samsung. My only bugbear was they sent the 120 model which doesn't have the better remote I ordered the 100 model.

Something happened to the screen. Turned it on one day and there was a line bleeding across the screen.Couldn't watch anything.Samsung support was not helpful, despite still being within the warranty period.Sadly, i will have to trade it for parts and likley buy a new /TV.My older LCD model is still going stron.

So this tv has got a better picture than my old Samsung (3yrs old) but it isn't true 4K. I discovered this when I had my Sky updated to Sky Q and the engineer was looking for the setting to activate the 10 bit needed for ACTUAL 4K. Turns out this tv is probably 6bit, maybe 8bit but the engineer couldn't tell as it's not listed in the set up screen. I've been buying Samsungs since LED came out but due to their duplicity with this item my next purchase might have to come from another supplier. The true irony is that I put my old tv in the bedroom with the extra Q Box I got on the package and the picture is vitually the same. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

The TV arrived promptly, the packaging was undamaged and the delivery driver was very friendly and polite.Although we have had a 47" LG Smart TV for the past five years, the Freeview controller went and I managed to trip over my headphone lead and smashed the headphone socket in the TV! Careless of me! Although the LG TV still works faultlessly through our Sky box, we decided to upgrade so now I've got a 47" LG TV sitting in my loft!This Samsung TV was relatively easy to setup if you have configured a Smart TV before. It has a tremendous amount of configuration settings, enough to please even the most fastidious of people and the picture is superb!We've now had this TV since July 2017 and we the family, really cannot fault it. Since then nothing has gone wrong with it or the settings and the picture quality is excellent. Being pensioners who live in a small bungalow with a small lounge, there is no need for a sound bar as the built-in speakers are more that sufficient. If I had to gripe about it, it seems to be the practice these days not to have a headphone socket in the TV. I get around this by using the headphone socket in my Yamaha audio/visual amp which is connected to the TV.

great television at a great price, cheapest we could find. loads of facilities on the television although still learning how to use them all
