Broke my favorite rod and had given up till I ran across this repair kit! Wasn’t too difficult but you have to be careful when gluing back together! So far it’s holding up well!

This is a fantastic value. If you were to by carbon fiber solid core tubing separately, it would cost you more than the kit. If someone who doesn’t have a garage full of tools, this for you. Everything you need is here. I was particularly impressed with the glue provided. Fishing rod glues are different than other glues. This stuff was the best. You even get different color threads for guide rebuilding. This is a great bargain.

Nice kit

Like that it has multiple size inserts to fit nearly any part of the fishing rod. Takes a little practice to make the repairs look pretty but they hold.

I thought I’d try this kit as a last resort. My favorite rod (Sage One 9ft #4) snapped after ten years of hard use and I bought it used so no warranty. Luckily it was a very clean break. I was able to slide one of the graphite rods into both sections and epoxy in place (I did use Pro Paste for this step as it’s the best rod building epoxy). The second step was wrapping the area with 6/0 tying thread and putting a thin coat of the rod varnish from the kit on it.

After I have done exactly everything what the instruction said; the next day after a bit of the pressure on the rod; it broke into two pieces again , very disappointed

Awesome repair

Purchased this kit to try a repair of my fly rod, which was broken cleanly between the second and third guides. Smallest splint was too narrow by about 50% and the next size up wouldn’t fit. (The kit comes with plenty of large-diameter splints … in case you break a rod near the handle?) Tried using the smallest splint with extra epoxy to fill the gap, finished the repair with 3 layers of epoxy on the outside applied over three days, epoxied the wrap and waited 3+ more days to test the repair. With just a little pressure on the tip, the rod broke again in the same place. Pretty certain it was doomed due to the poor fit of the small splint. Also: my kit included no directions — zero, zip, nada —but YouTube has several videos that use the same materials you get in this kit.

Had several broken rods. Maybe me, maybe kids, don't remember.Ordered this kit to fix several.Rods are fixed and seem just like new, looks may vary.But, they catch fish, so I'm good.

I've never done any DIY rod repairs before. I had a pricey Japanese "Palms Shoregun" rod which snapped after my friend inadvertently stepped on it. I was able to complete a tip repair surprisingly easy with this kit, and the rod has held up for several fishing trips so far.Tip - to speed up drying time of the epoxy, lightly run a lit flame over where you applied it

The rods different sizes. Which is good for repairing the rod in broken places.

Product seems to be good quality hopefully it holds it self after repairing the broken tip on my fishing rod.
