Impressive Gift
I bought this as part of my 45yr old sons Christmas. Not easy to buy for but he was ecstatic. A treat to watch his face. This could be the start of something big.

Grandson smiling from cheek to cheek
Lego is always a fantastic toy, as I remember from my childhood & a visit to Lego land Denmark many many Moons ago, although a slightly expensive toy of plastic!, Dad not impressed as most of Boxing Day morning was spent on Millennium Falcon assembly as son (grandson) attention span is limited, he he he.

Happy Son
Made our sons Christmas! A day and a half with some breaks it was made. He really enjoyed the build and said it was the best thing he’s had for Christmas. Excellent Lego quality.

Good play version of the infamous YT-1300 light freighter
Our expanding Star Wars collection is heavily played with on a daily basis. Personally I most like to add exotic ships and playsets to it. However my young apprentice prefers clone kit and of course the iconic ships of the heroes. Strangely enough we lacked a Millennium Falcon so far even though the Lego Star Wars range has produced quite a few iterations of the Correllian freighter over time. And I wasn’t planning to get one now, but I was tempted by it a steep, about 40% compared to the usual retail price. I’m afraid that eventually we’ll get a large UCS Millennium Falcon version as well, though for the moment we would lack space to keep it (and we already have the excellent big Hasbro Millennium Falcon). However for now this remains a fairly decent and much more affordable temporary solution. Also because it is both an iconic ship and a playlet in one that offers a quite a few play features. The built of the 1351 piece set wasn’t too demanding, it took us about 4 hours though we completed it in several sessions during a school break. I usually sort and collect the pieces and my highly experienced set of young hands puts the model together. While I put the sticker in place - of this there are a few in this set.The completed model is quite sturdy and opens up smoothly on top to reveal the interior and playset. Once the top panels are opened there are beds, chairs, a holochess table, the guns can be manned, the ramp can be lowered and there is a hidden cargo space. The ship also fires two missiles.I would have a few points of criticism first of all its a scale model , so I find the cockpit a little narrow and does not flip open with a hinge. Secondly, the interior and exterior in particular is dotted with studs, that is perhaps what you can expect with a cheap child and play-focussed version. But it does look at little off compared to the beautiful and realistic recent models like the Razor Crest and the Mos Eisley Cantina and even next to the UCS Jawa trailer.Lastly, the figure selection is average at best. We have countless of R2D2’s/C3PO’s and even a few DO’s no. The same goes for Finn and Chewbacca. So these could have been left out. Though I understand that as a cornerstone item in a kid’s Lego collection these figures would have to be in. On the other hand Lando in his old-age appearance is good and interesting. And the somewhat obscure Boolio is even better.Despite all the complains about damaged boxes ours arrived in pristine condition, very carefully packaged. - Amazon Prime does know how to handle it.

Amazon customer service fairly poor on this occasion.
The product itself I have no issues with, I’ve had to give mid way stars for Amazon’s customer service, before I start, I’ve always found Amazon’s service very good, and have had issues rectified promptly and efficiently in the past. This time however I purchased this item via Amazon’s monthly payments option, the items cost is £149.99, I chose the payment option plan of 5 monthly instalments of £30.I ordered on the Saturday, confirmation showed monthly instalments, however, looking at my bank account Monday morning the full £149.99 was deducted from my account, I went on live chat to find out why, the gentlemen operative basically fobbed me off and enquired why “I don’t know why you confuse” I can excuse the incorrect English, but not the level of service, basically telling me I’m not very intelligent on the matter, I asked to escalate, the operative who telephoned assured me I’d be reimbursed the difference, and the payment plan would commence, in the meantime she emailed me....she used an incorrect nam to address me, gave me incorrect information, and quite frankly lied! The item was delivered in the timeframe, and with no issues, however the situation of the payment was not resolved, I had to raise chat again, the operative was apologetic and did state he could see Amazon were at fault and will do what he could to help me, but he couldn’t over the phone, which has left me in the red with my bank account, and with the issue of how to rectify this, as stated this is my first taste of inadequacy within Amazon customer service, I will continue to use Amazon, but I hope my complaint is taken seriously, as up until now I feel it has not.

A really nice new design for the Lego Falcon
I've found myself getting back into Lego Star Wars in a huge way in the last couple of years. It started with the Kessel Run Falcon , a build I loved and model I really enjoy having on display. I've been tempted ever since to get a falcon based on the classic design and colouring.A price drop on this and great reviews detailing the new design was the incentive to jump in.The build has changed a lot, making it a new experience and the design is really different. The mandibles have been re-modelled to be more proportionate with the Falcon in the movies and the top section has had a total redesign, now having five panels instead of 10. It means far less gaps, making it look much better and also making it much more accessible when used as a playset. Unlike the Kessel Run set it also opens fully at the back rather than having a fixed panel. The set comes with some nice mini figures which include a really nice version of an older Lando and a variant of Finn that I have not seem before.Overall this is a fantastic set. The Falcon is a Star Wars classic and, outside of the UCS, this is the best Lego build of it yet.
