Does the job, lets air flow through inner mesh and no flapping noise when windy

I live in a 2 year old property that had the ‘flap’ vent grille style fitted. These were very noisy, flapping around when there was any wind, and one of the flaps eventually broke (as per the picture), so not great after only 2 years.So I wanted a replacement that a) was not noisy and b) would last, and these grilles looked to fit the bill. Quality is good, I liked the dark brown colour, matched the brick colour nicely and they were easy to fit (I fitted 2).With the new grille you first need to remove the louvred part, which is simply done by getting a small flat headed screwdriver and prising away from the frame of the grille. Some care is needed, so not to break the holding tabs, but took less than 60 seconds.Once I removed the old grille from the wall I found that the 2 screw holes matched the new grille, so was a case of snipping off the cable tie that held the pipe to the grille, attaching to the new grille, wrapping a new cable tie around and screwing the frame into the wall. Place the fly screen and then the grille into the frame, again being careful and job done! Note… as you are installing ensure that both the frame and louvred grille are placed the right way up.It was very windy last night and it was whisper quiet (great!), so works very well. Time will tell on longevity but they look the part and are solid….recommended.

This was the perfect solution to stopping insects getting into a cloakroom extractor. When we bought our house we found there was a wasps nest in the ducting but fortunately it had been vacated. The traditional grill easily allowed insects to get in so this option with a separate mesh filter Make sure that isn’t gonna happen again it was simple to fit and solve the problem.

Happy with product but a bit concerned how easy it will be to open on wall to clear filter. Not just as obvious as my previous one with obvious studs. Still happy but just this slight issue.
