Bosch Circular Saw PKS 55 (1200 W, Saw Blade, Parallel Guide, in Carton Packaging)

More expensive than others on Amazon but you get what you pay for-is excellent in every way and cuts like hot knife through butter.

After finding out my cheap old saw was battered beyond comprehension this Bosch was a breath of fresh air. The first cut was so clean and required so little force it was a major change. The cut line was perfect and it's been used massively since and still producing perfectly clean cuts in kitchen worktops, 50mm square timbers etc.The cutting guides work really well making it easy to follow a pencil line or, better still, clamping a guide makes a perfectly straight cut every time. Easy to use, light and nowehere near as noisy as the old saw.

Purchased it for a fairly large DIY project and I love it. Not to heavy and I'm a fairly slim lady and I don't struggle at all. This must be my most favourite piece of kit and together with my trusty multi tool, I'm a very happy owner. It came with a disk that's very versatile as well.

This is good and pretty decent value for money when on sale. It'll cut a piece of wood, but short of one specific kind of rip cut you may as well throw the little guide in the bin. I'm not sure if this one works with tracks, but there are grooves in the bottom plate that imply that. It takes a little time to get used to, and is rather heavy, but I've used it in rougher cuts for quick furniture that only need a little clean up.

Bought to replace a 25 year old PKS-46, which, after years of heavy use, finally stripped its internal gears.This update is sturdier (cast alu blade case) and around twice the motor power. It retains all the original controls, but better located and cushioned. Even the side-fence is interchangeable with the old model. It is heavier than its predecessor, but more stable and professional. The 12-tooth Speedline tungsten-carbide-tipped blade (supplied with the saw) produced fast, clean and accurate cuts in both chipboard and long-grain joists.Superb value for money!

Excellent for DIY work. Using the right disc for the corresponding task is essential - when paired correctly, it performs exceptionally well.

As a first time user of a circular saw I made sure to read the instructions twice for safety (and not to waste material on preventable mistakes anyway). I needed it to shave doors as the carpets are too thick. It's easier and more convenient to use than I expected and I like the brand a lot. The included spanner is a great feature, my cuts were consistent and straight, it looks like a professional did it. Beginner tip: Use masking tape to prevent chipping.The only problem is a dust collector/hose is to be ordered separately and standard vacuum hose didn't hold properly so had someone to hold the vacuum hose while I was cutting. I already used it second time with other project and prefer this over a jigsaw as the cut looks cleaner and it's faster and easier to use.

Excellent for the purpose I required it for. Good quality as you would expect.
