Soft cloth on one side. You don't have to use a towel between skin. Otherwise is colder for deeper cold. Pliable to fit neck, shoulder, knee wherever needed.

I've purchased two of these because they're so great.Pros:- Get cold fairly quickly (2ish hours if you're starting from room temperature).- Flexible to wrap around shoulder, back of the neck or knee- Soft side is comfortable to use against bare skinCons:- Gel moves around within sections of the wrap, so you need to do some adjusting before freezing- When first using out of the freezer, it can be a bit stiffIn response to reviews that say it doesn't stay cold long, I found it stated cold enough for around 20 minutes or treatment, which is the max time medically recommended before you should take a break.

This ice pack is perfect for my needs. It refreezes for the next application quickly. The fabric used for the skin to ice pack contact is very comfortable. The ice retention is perfect for my 20 minute treatment. I would highly recommend.

this is a great ice pack of you have neck and shoulder pain. very flexible and works great. it's large enough to cover most of your shoulders. also food nicely on your lower back.

Smaller than it looks and is not as efficient as one I purchased previously. It works adequately.

Use it all the time under my back, on my neck. Love that it has the 2 sides for extra or less coolness. Sturdy, no frills, does the job!
